Budget initially said we hadn’t paid for the vehicle and refused the booking without bank proof. We were on the other side of the world from home and had none. Eventually they contacted the booking agent who was at fault and agreed it was fully paid.

Not good as they had not informed Budget that we had fully paid at the time of booking in the UK! It was sorted out after a very stressful morning.

The queue at Budget was long and the customer service agent gave me the wrong information on e-toll charges. I asked him whether it was possible to pay cash at the tolls and did not get an answer. He just told me each time I passed through a toll I would get charged USD 9 plus twice the toll charge which I later found was the wrong information. Then they gave me a car which was not there. The parking spot we were told to go to to get the car was empty. We were then offered a truck which I refused. Finally, a car was just brought back and we were offered that car. The petrol gauge was not full. The needle was below F, but the budget agent kept insisting it was full. Finally, she agreed we could return the car with the petrol tank 7 eighths full. We then tried to get out of the budget car park but were refused by the staff making the exit as the car allocated in the system was not the car I was given. Do I had to drive back to the admin office to sort this out. I was not impressed with Budget.
