Overcharged and unexplained

The staff at AVIS in San Francisco Airport were very rude, especially a long-haired Black girl and a chubby White guy, both had bad attitudes. Initially, they gave me a car with a broken window and many scratches on the door. Later, when I found an AVIS PREMIER service guy on the same floor, his attitude was much better, and he gave me a brand new car.

We went to pick up the car at noon, and the receptionist spoke Chinese. She told us that the car we booked was not available and that there were only two Korean cars left in the same class, which were of lower quality. She suggested that we upgrade to a new 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 by paying an extra $25. It was quite frustrating, but we had no choice. We ended up paying an additional $175 for 7 days. It felt somewhat like a scam because it’s unlikely you'll get the car you actually booked.

Very convenient

The wait time for picking up the car was quite long. The staff kept persuading us to upgrade the vehicle, and the pricing was not very transparent. The return process, however, was fairly simple and smooth.

Customer service at San Francisco airport was indifferent.
