Quite bad experience with Alamo that try to sell/upgrade car type and finally get the manual car.

First, the instruction to get the car from airport has no detail. I have to ask few people to get to the bus stop to the rental car (Heathrow airort terminal 2) Second, the staff do not have the model I rented (Nissan Qashqai Automatic). He try to sell the larger car (Manual transmission which I can drive). But the upgrade price is much higher than I have to pay for the Nissan Qashqai, so I decide to get the similar car that I booked. So finally I got the Vauxhall Grand Land manual transmission. I feel sort of tricky that they do not have the model I booked the car and prrovide the lower car type (manual) to me. I also talk to my friend about this, he also got the similar problem from Alamo that can not provide the model he book annd the staff try to sell the upgrade to other model. Third, I did use the road side assistant due to flat tyre. The response is quick and professional.

The staff were not very helpful, focusing on recommending insurance during pickup. After returning the car, I realized I left a water bottle inside. I went back to the return location within half an hour to inquire, but they said they did not find the water bottle. The website offered navigation for free, but the staff claimed there was none and said we had to pay for it.

1. They didn't coordinate properly with the rental website, causing me to pay the one-way fee twice. 2. The drop-off location was extremely unclear! They should provide a detailed address instead of just a postcode. We were instructed to return the car at Edinburgh train station, but couldn't find any signs or an office nearby. We had to drive around the busy area for a long time before calling the store to get the exact location. This issue isn't unique to us. After we parked, another car faced the same problem and only found the spot after asking the police. I've lived in Edinburgh for nearly a year, and even I had trouble. It's even more challenging for first-time visitors.

The selection of cars in their premium is getting very shallow and not very good. The price when you want extend my 2 days was more than the price I paid for the 7 days.

Very stupid process of having to send your rental agreement to you after my rental period has finished. I have paid you for the hire, then after I have returned the car you want me to send you my invoice to give me points I have earned by already spending the money. Utterly ridiculous from your company, you were better last year, this year becoming a joke.

The staff at the counter are really nice and proactive. They helped me as there was a problem. The cars are not brand new, they can be a little old so the drive isn't as nice. But still very good.
