You can see it as soon as you come out, and occasionally there's a Mandarin-speaking staff member or even a dedicated translator.
The customer service was a bit slow during pickup, and they only tried to sell me roadside assistance, which I didn't buy.
Drop-off was frustrating; they showed me an invoice, and I noticed the price was $200 higher. I asked why, and after a long explanation, they said it was because the gas tank wasn't full. I had filled it up before returning, and only after showing the fuel receipt was the charge waived.
The wait time for renting was very long due to insufficient staff. After returning the car, I was charged over 100 dollars and have not received a resolution from the rental company yet.
When picking up the car, we were asked a question by a guy who realized we were Chinese. He kept a stern face throughout and didn't want to communicate with us! Although they clearly stated an extra driver would cost 25, they actually deducted the entire 100 pre-authorization! When we asked Zuzuche to check, they replied it was because we picked up the car a day earlier, just one day! The plane arrived early, so we picked up the car at 7:00 instead of the planned 7:30. If extra charges were necessary, they should have informed us in advance.
The day I went, their computer was down. I booked a zero-deductible insurance through QEEQ, but they didn't register it! Overall, this issue took quite a while to resolve. QEEQ's service was excellent!
I paid for insurance and spent an entire precious travel day fixing the car. Returned the car in perfect condition, taking responsibility to ensure it could be rented out immediately without delays. Labor and materials are extremely expensive in New Zealand, with repair costs reaching 2500 RMB. Avis cars are also very expensive compared to others. In the end, there wasn't even an explanation or thank you. So, why did I pay for your insurance? Such companies will face consequences! At the very least, I paid for insurance! Even if you don't refund anything, at least return my insurance money! I hope Zuzuche (the rental platform) penalizes Avis for being an untrustworthy company!
