I used Hertz in Melbourne and Europcar in Sydney, and the difference was huge. Hertz gave me a free upgrade, while Europcar downgraded my car. The vehicle was in poor condition, and they pushed insurance on me. I had booked an Outlander but got a mini version instead. I'll stick with big companies in the future (the heavy Indian accent was also hard to understand).

No matter how careful you are, there's always some kind of fees to be charged and they never tell you this, e.g. premium location charge, which was never mentioned to me neither when I booked the vehicle nor when I met the counter staff to collect the car.

I trusted Europcar that they should have checked the condition of the car such as sketches. Luckily I took a video and found out there are many sketches which were not recorded. Moreover, the vehicle was not fully top up with petrol and I wonder why ?

Like: Car was what we needed to carry 4 adults and 2 infants under 3years.
Dislike: Confusion over where the cars was being picked up from and fitting child seats despite taking the time to confirm all the details (including correcting some confusion over type of child seats required) the day before arriving with the domestic terminal staff by phone.
