They routinely asked if we wanted insurance. When we declined, they didn't press further or unexpectedly add insurance clauses. Very straightforward.

There was a guy who spoke Chinese at the pick-up location who insisted that the comprehensive insurance I bought was not good and tried to sell me their insurance. Almost fell for it. However, my insurance covered everything he mentioned. Although I canceled the additional insurance, I don’t know when I’ll get the refund along with the deposit. This might require additional communication later. When returning the car, the staff were cold, there were few of them, and everyone had to queue up. They even let foreigners cut in line.
