The staff at the airport branch were very patient and thoroughly explained the detailed charges. Their English skills were somewhat limited but communication was still manageable.
They promised an Audi A1 or a similar car, but it's mostly similar cars and you can rarely get an Audi A1. I initially got a Toyota which reported a headlight malfunction after about 30 kilometers, so I had to return it.
It was okay, similar to others. The only unacceptable thing was that I was over 2 hours late, and when I arrived, they said my booked car was no longer available. They only had manual cars left, so I had no choice but to accept it.
The customer service at the Nuremberg airport branch was very friendly. When we arrived in the big city of Munich, the staff's attitude was indifferent. However, the branch was just a 3-minute walk from the hotel, which was very convenient. Overall, renting from Europcar online with self-pickup was cheap and convenient.
Zuzuche service was great, but Europcar was terrible!
1. When picking up the car, I was downgraded. The Volkswagen model I chose on the Zuzuche app was more expensive than the Hyundai model I actually received. If I had rented the Hyundai directly, it would have been cheaper. I paid for a Volkswagen but ended up with a cheaper Hyundai.
I asked the staff to change the car, but they said the picture is just for reference and they don't guarantee the model. Other rental companies usually upgrade the car if they can't provide the specific model shown in the picture, but the Europcar staff insisted they had no cars available and gave me a cheaper model.
I asked to cancel the rental, but they said I could return the car but wouldn't get a refund. Since my travel plans were fixed, I had no choice but to accept this arrangement.
Throughout the process, their attitude towards us as Chinese customers was very unfriendly.
2. After picking up the car, I noticed that its maintenance was due during our rental period.
3. After returning the car on January 13, I still hadn't received my deposit back by early March. I had to contact Zuzuche customer service to coordinate the return, and I finally received it on March 14.
4. The location of the pickup store was wrong on Google Maps.
Very satisfied! I was upgraded to a Volvo XC60 with excellent condition. No sales pressure or extra charges. The deposit was refunded quickly. I will choose them again.
