The process was quite smooth, no upselling. I purchased full insurance from the rental company, the type that doesn't require reimbursement back home. Planned to land at 6 pm and booked the car for 7 pm. The flight arrived earlier than expected, and I reached the counter 45 minutes ahead of time. I was told I had to wait or pay extra to switch to a BMW 3-series, but I declined. Spent the next 45 minutes playing cards at the airport. For future reference, you can schedule the car pickup for a later time, but it's not allowed for an earlier pickup.
The staff were generally inattentive, and some were slightly arrogant. Finally, I encountered a helpful young gentleman who guided me to the exact location. Except for this young man who specifically assisted with navigation when returning the car, the overall experience from pickup to return was quite poor. The staff seemed inattentive, and some even appeared somewhat arrogant. Additionally, I must complain about the airport’s traffic layout—it feels like a maze. For first-time visitors, it is very unfriendly, inefficient, and full of unnecessary complications. They kept misleading me by saying I hadn’t purchased insurance or claiming there were no cars available except manual ones. They even said I would have to pay extra for an automatic car, even though I had clearly booked an automatic. I ended up entering the wrong parking lot twice and had to walk 15 minutes to locate the return area. A senior staff member dismissively told me to 'follow the signs.' Fortunately, a thoughtful young employee came by to carefully guide me, and I was finally able to return the car.
Very satisfied with the service; the staff had a great attitude, the car was in excellent condition, and it was a brand-new vehicle with only 11 kilometers on it.
The quality is acceptable, but their charges are very hidden. We rented a car without any collisions, yet they used a flashlight to inspect and claimed there was a white mark less than 1mm on the glass, demanding us to pay 650 euros. It's ridiculous.
The staff at the airport provided me with a brand-new hybrid Volkswagen Golf, with only 10km on the odometer and the scent of new leather. The VW Golf performs excellently, offering a smooth driving experience and great fuel efficiency. There were three of us in total, and the trunk accommodated one medium-sized and one small suitcase, while a medium suitcase was placed on the back seat. Europcar employees routinely ask whether insurance is needed; I informed them that I had already purchased insurance through a third-party rental platform, and they were fine with it.
