Since this trip involved five friends, we booked a larger station wagon several months in advance. Upon arrival, the rental company initially intended to give us a CLA, claiming it was the station wagon we had reserved. However, after we checked the official website and confirmed that the CLA station wagon belonged to a different category, they changed their stance and said they could refund the price difference but insisted that no other vehicles were available today. They presented a 'take it or leave it' option and left us stranded in the garage to walk back to their office on our own. After contacting customer service via the rental platform, we were informed that a V90 could be arranged within an hour (they even specified the model). After 45 minutes, we tried to communicate again with the same store staff, only to be told that there had been a system malfunction during the past hour, and we would have to wait another hour on the store's sofa. They assured us that the vehicle would be immediately available once ready. Another hour passed, and we had to walk back to the counter ourselves before the staff finally arranged the car keys for us.
Returning the car was very quick, just needed to refuel to full. There was some delay during pickup, but they directly upgraded the car to a seemingly more expensive model.
They trick customers by giving you a GLE with less trunk space than a 90, and the tire has a bulge. I don't believe they wouldn't notice this during the inspection.
Exceeded my expectations in every way. There was 4miles on the car when I got it. The customer service staff on location was extremely friendly, great to chat to and very helpful. Would recommend based on his interaction alone.
They sneakily include insurance in the rental agreement without informing you and charge your credit card after you return the car. The staff's service is poor, they can give you the wrong car and later notify you saying, 'We gave you the wrong car.'
Arrived at the car rental company on time, they said the model we booked wasn't available (Hertz explained that the QEEQ website made a mistake; they don't have such vehicles and normally use them for cargo). They offered us two choices: either switch to a 9-seater or change to an SUV and a regular car. However, both options would cost significantly more, and the second option couldn't fit the luggage of our three families, leaving us with only the first option. After dealing with the car rental company and a 2-hour delay, we finally got the 9-seater, but it disrupted our morning plans, and we had to pay extra. After renting cars abroad many times, this was by far the worst experience.
I got an EV, I couldn’t activate the Polstar card. I couldn’t charge the car as I didn’t have a ChargingScotland card. I contacted Hertz and received no reply. I will not use them again.
I was not given the vehicle I booked. I was charged £50 extra per day. The staff told me that 3 seater vehicle is not there for the class of vehicle booked, but the booking was for 3 seater.
About QEEQ:8.0/10
When there were no 3 seater for the class of vehicle I booked, how did the system accepted the bookings?
The car pick-up process was extremely slow. It took an hour to get a signal on the POS machine. The staff told me that in case of any accident, I must first pay Hertz £1500. They also pushed additional local insurance at £23 per day. It seems that domestic insurance with low coverage is not very helpful.
Hertz is great. I lost my passport, but Hertz was the only company that could rent a car to me, and they were very efficient. I ended up with a Toyota Chev, which is a great car.
Without any notification, the initial order for a Mercedes was changed to a small Ford. Customer service couldn't resolve it, and we ended up canceling the order out of frustration. They even said they don't accept complaints! An international rental company with such poor service is truly disappointing. In the end, we had to cancel the order, but a Hertz employee came out and offered us a Hyundai for three days at the original four-day price. Overall, this was the worst rental experience abroad.
Pathetic experience at Hertz as they didn’t provide the vehicle which was pre- booked. was forced to take a sedan which was uncomfortable as we were 5 adults travelling.
