CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON AVIS IN EDINBURGH

We picked up the car at Edinburgh Airport, just a short walk from the terminal. We waited in line for about 20 minutes when we arrived around 10 AM.

The rental company service is mediocre, long waiting line, booked an SUV but got a standard sedan instead, and was told it's the same class. I booked more than two months in advance.

The service is convenient, easy to rent and return the car. Very satisfied!

Excellent service attitude, they stayed late to help us pick up the car! Not as bad as some reviews said.

Used AVIS in both Germany and the UK. The overall service was nothing special but also had no issues. However, both times I was given a car that was a lower tier than the model advertised online.

Like: Golf was great and stable. Petrol efficient since we didn't use the aircon and decided to feel the breeze of Scotland. Nice and quiet to drive.

Customer service was rude and there was a large crack in the windscreen. They had no other cars apparently so we had to take it.

I booked an SUV, but got a Skoda instead. They said there were no SUVs left in the same category... Okay, I accepted it. On my way, the parked car was hit by a blue Golf, which was entirely the other party's fault. When I returned the car, I filled out the necessary forms. They said it would take about three days to confirm the responsibility with the other party's insurance company and send me an email, but there was no follow-up... Then I discovered that my credit card was charged £422 for all the car damages... Zuzu Car said they would contact the rental company, but there was no response. Finally, I had to email Avis myself, and they replied saying the investigation was still ongoing... There's no telling when the money will be refunded...

Picked up the car in Edinburgh; no queues, great service. They just asked if I had bought insurance and did not try to upsell me.

Very good. I actually got a Vauxhall Mokka 1.4. The car was very new and in great condition. No upselling.

Excellent customer service! We were helped by the friendliest person who was efficient, patient and thorough. We were given a car within the class we requested, and a hybrid to boot! Would highly recommend AVIS.

Overall, I give five stars for the car rental experience, but I deduct two stars for the Avis customer service during car return. A female employee named Glacé had an extremely impatient and rude attitude, as if I was there to borrow money instead of returning a car. When I couldn't find the return location for the first time, she even said 'Oh my goodness, how can’t he do it.' I strongly request that this review be forwarded to Avis as an official complaint!

I left a car charger in the car when returning it, and the staff were impatient, saying it's gone, then it's gone.

Both the car pick-up and return were quick, and the overall experience was very pleasant.
