The Budget - Sydney Airport car hire location is in terminal

You can walk to the counter of Budget - Sydney Airport car hire.

Airport Terminal Instructions COUNTER: Please note temporary address while work is being carried out at the airport. Corner of Ross Smith Avenue and Butler Road. The instruction below is domestic only. The Budget car rental counters are located in the T2 and T3 arrivals area, opposite the baggage carousels. All non-Budget Fastbreak customers must proceed to the in-terminal Budget counters to complete their rental agreement before being transported to the location via a free shuttle bus. Staff will guide customers to the shuttle bus, which departs from two kerbside pickup areas at the T2 and T3 terminals. Please have your rental documents ready when you arrive at the shuttle pick-up point and the Budget location to expedite your vehicle collection.

Drop-off Instructions

Airport Terminal Instructions COUNTER: Please note temporary address while work is being carried out at the airport. Corner of Ross Smith Avenue and Butler Road. The instruction below is domestic only. All vehicle returns should be made at the Budget facility on the corner of Ross Smith Avenue and Butler Road, not at the P1 car park (see attached map). If you are returning a vehicle from south Sydney or via the M5 motorway, turn left into Butler Road from General Holmes Drive (at the BP Service Station), then turn left into the Budget location. If you are returning from Sydney CBD, the northern or eastern suburbs, turn right into General Holmes Drive from Southern Cross Drive, then turn left into Ross Smith Avenue, passing the Blu Emu parking facility. Turn left at the roundabout into Butler Avenue and right into the Budget location. A free shuttle bus will be provided to transport customers between the new Budget location and T2 and T3 Domestic Terminals by Sydney Airport.

    When I rented the car, I added a GPS, thinking it was integrated into the car. So I took the keys and went straight to the car, only to find out later that the GPS was a separate device rented at the counter. The employee at the rental counter didn't give me the GPS device even though I was charged for it, causing me to spend 30 minutes looking for it in the car. After asking nearby staff, I learned that the GPS is a separate device and needs to be collected at the counter. I had to run back to the rental counter where the embarrassed employee admitted they forgot to give it to me, wasting my time. It turned out the car had Apple CarPlay, which I connected to my phone, allowing me to use Baidu/Google Maps. This was much more reliable than the rented GPS, which I ended up not using at all, wasting the GPS rental fee.
