Horrible customer service. It took over 1hr and half to get the rental, a lot of hidden fees that they only give you at the counter. Charge separately for individual insurance policies which they tell you a different thing before you call. The airport pick up location is horrible. Overall would not use this company again.
“Bureaucratic process.....Long unnecessary talking and waiting time.”
About Europcar:8.7/10
The car was brand new Sedan Hyundai Elantra. The Waiting time for my turn advance to the counter was horrible, waiting time at least 60min. Your staff attending to my booking was trying to influence me to "upgrade" to a more durable care that can manage snow driving instead of proceed with arranging the unit which I had done pre-paid via online weeks ago at price I prefer. The upgrade offer was like US$150+ verses my pre-paid US$40. That's was a shoker to us when I realised it was somehow convincingly blabbered thruout and "upgrade" was arranged. Until I saw the paper to sign, I had decided not to proceed with the upgrade.
“Exterior filthy, inside ok, service was pretty good.”
About FOX RENT A CAR:5.7/10
Car was filthy. Inside was ok. Outside looked like someone went mud running in it and hadn't washed it for months. Counter rep was very nice. Had to wait a while in line. Must have been a peak time.
Budget staff at Colorado Springs...not particularly great! We wanted to downsize to a smaller car..the rate was stupid money and the staff not very helpful. Would not use Budget again!
Disappointing that Europcar didn't have an easy way for the car to use Denver's toll roads in a simple "pay as you go" way.
I.e Several of Europcar's competitors at Denver airport fit tags to their cars, so that you can use the toll roads and simply pay just for the individual trips you've taken at the end of the rental.
Europcar/Advantage don't do this. The advice from the staff was simply "don't use the toll roads". This was rather inconvenient.
HIGHLY UPSET - I was charged $139.86 instead of $43.57 when I returned vehicle which is $96.29 extra fees. Called & your rep 1st tried to say it was taxes & when I explained that was too high b/c my entire rental was only $159, he reviewed it more. Then said it was convenience fee for not refueling vehicle upon return. I don't understand why I'm charged this when the counter rep who rented me the vehicle specifically told me NOT to refuel, that they have an assembly line return & it speeds things up. He even said the gas would be a better price. NEVER did he say this was an upgraded feature that cost money. NOW I wonder if I will be hit with an upgraded fee since the same counter rep said he was upgrading my car since the one I selected was not available. I have NEVER in my life returned a car without filling up but I know he specifically told me Not to & I even remarked to him that I'd never heard of such & was pleasantly surprised Advantage offers this customer service. I am now regretting that thought because I got the worst customer service in that I was SCAMMED. The rep completely Lied & when he said not to fill up. Worse is that I only used $5.50 worth of gas. “I had requested an auto with 4 wheel drive. When I called the day before, no one committed.”
About FOX RENT A CAR:6.0/10
First of all, there was not much of a line and there were several people working desks. It took us nearly an hour to get our car. It was the slowest process I have ever experienced to rent a car. Then I had requested a 4 wheel drive or equivalent auto, it was not a 4 wheel or equivalent and we were going into the mountains to Steamboat in a blizzard. What was requested was not fulfilled. I would not rent a car from Fox again.
straight forward, no pressure to buy any extra insurances, clear instructions what insurance I have purchased, I reported some small damages of the rims and paint when exiting the depot just to ensure the sate of the car, done 2300mi without any problems,
The car wasn't cleaned prior to our rental and it was a filth ball. We didn't find out until well on our way to the ski slopes that the rig wasn't 4x4 wheel drive. My bad for not specifying, but who makes a 2-wheel drive full-sized SUV? It defeats the purpose of an SUV. We had to purchase chains for the vehicle to comply with the Colorado Traction Law. Miscellaneous charges of more than $100 showed up on our receipt that were later removed after we called to inquire. The answer was something about computer errors. Highly suspect. Not happy !!
Hertz didn't have a Dodge Challenger and none in the adrenaline collection when I arrived for pick up.
They gave us a free upgrade to an Infiniti SUV, however, we only wanted an American muscle car.
The supervisor told us that they would give us a call in the morning so that we could swop cars.
No call was ever made and I had to call them personally to check and reserve the only adrenaline collection car, a Camaro SS.
The car was clean internally and smelt new.
It was a joy to drive, but barely had enough space for our luggage.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
Calvin has been great help.
He contacted Hertz for us to reserve the adrenaline collection car.
He did mention that a Dodge Challenger would be available, but Hertz insisted that they do not have specific car reservation.
Still, he has been great help
“Good car but long wait at service location and use your head when they try to sell you extras”
About Advantage:7.7/10
Long wait in location to pick up the car.
Tried to sell me Ezpass or equivalent in which I really did not need.
I think I asked them about it so it may be my fault but if they say you need a more powerful car don't listen to them.
However the actual car I got and the price I paid was amazing and that is what matters the most, car drove well no problem with it whatsoever aka. did not impair my vacation expect the long wait as location.
Also easy drop off and fast shuttle back the airport.
Counter staff was absolutely dreadful, I got charged $23 and change from the deposit for...I have no idea what, I didn't want to stand in line for an hour to find out...would not use Fox again. Also, you have to pay for your spouse to drive, so Fox is not as inexpensive as you initially think.
