Rental car pick-up/drop-off process was relatively smooth. Car pick-up/drop-off process includes an extra step as shuttle bus brings you from DCA to the rental car center but you must wait for and take another shuttle because Advantage location is off-site from rental center. Advantage's prices are usually lower than those at rental car center, which makes up for the extra time needed. Ensure you factor in a little extra time for pick-up/drop-off when choosing off-site rental car companies.

The queue to pick up our car was over an hour wait. The staff at the counter were not friendly at all, very pushy on up selling insurance despite having full cover already - they use scaremongering tactics. Also they tried to give us a smaller/cheaper car than we booked. After I complained and showed my booking confirmation, they finally honoured what I paid for but told me it was technically an “upgrade”. Would pay the extra money and hire a car from a more reputable company so you can at least relax and make the most of your vacation in Maui, not worry about whether you’re going to get stung with Advantage additional charges on return!
