I booked the car 2-3 months in advance, but it took over 2 hours past the scheduled time to get the car at the airport pickup point. It felt like a scam as we waited and waited. It wasn't just us; other customers also had to wait a long time for their cars. One foreigner got fed up and went to another company to rent a car. We, who pre-paid, were left hungry and wasted a lot of time. The staff member attending to us was inexperienced and kept saying 'sorry' without offering any solutions.

I wasn't informed that I could return the car by myself when no staff was present, which caused me to spend NZD 15 on a taxi to the airport.

It's okay.
