I hadn't been to LAX in a long time and forgot how to find the shuttle, so it took me a while to locate it. The store wasn't very busy in the late afternoon around 6-7 PM. It shares the premises with Hertz. I waited in line for about 10 minutes before enquiring what cars were available. They offered me a Nissan Armada and a Ford Expedition, and recommended the Ford because it was a newer model. They suggested additional insurance, but I declined. The car was okay, though not exceptionally clean. There were some residual spots in corners not easily visible, but it was acceptable.

Convenient and considerate

The full tank return policy was shown on the rental car website, but it wasn't accepted locally. The rental car company asked for proof of this policy, but the printed pickup slip didn't mention it in English, so I had to buy a full tank from the rental car company. Also, when I rented a car in Los Angeles, I was told there were additional road taxes, which made the total cost about 2000 RMB more than my original booking in China. However, I was quite happy because they upgraded my car model for free due to no availability of the same model.

Dollar offers good value for the price, and both the pickup and return processes are very convenient. However, it seems that Dollar has fewer cars compared to Avis, at least judging by the parking lot. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

It was okay... too much upselling, almost forced to upgrade, had to pay an extra $130 for additional clauses.
