    Dislike: The first car I was offered wasin such bad maintenance status that I was turned around at the gate. The next vehicle was great but I skulls have been able to choose it initially. The first vehicle, which was terrible, was the only vehicle available and there was no offered upgrade or anything until it failed the maintenance cycle which costs me more time that I didn't have.

    Car was perfect & a good choice. Dollar staff didn’t offer the option to return the car back with a full tank of gas. They wanted to charge us nearly $80 for the gas. I tried to contact dollar customer services when I found out about this option but with no joy. The lady I returned the car too allowed us to fill the car up with petrol & she removed the fee they wanted.

    Lady behind the counter told the man in front of us he needed to buy insurance and he refused saying it was included. When it was our turn we were told we weren't covered by any insurance and to buy some through dollar, I refused. She then offered to prepay for fuel even though that was already included through easyrentcars. When she actually processed the booking she couldn't avoid the fact it said that insurance was included that she tried to pretend wasn't there. The cars in our section were all old and there was only about 3-4 of them. Would never go through Dollar again.

    Had to wait in queue almost two hours (after 11 hours overseas flight) at Pick-up, and when finally reaching desk, there were no cars. We could choose to wait 3-5 hours more or come back next day. We chose the latter, but next day the queue was even longer! We talked to a manager, and were directed to another queue, waited 25 min, but were then told to get back to the long queue because we did not have any proof from Yesterdays waiting! Were told that our situation was the same as all the other people waiting. But because we explained that the manager had promised he would help….the desk person suddenly said OK, and he gave us the car … and was very friendly. No deduction for the missing day.

    This trip to the U.S., I rented twice from Dollar. The first time from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and the second time from San Francisco to Los Angeles. We had an accident during the first leg, but since we were rushing for a flight, they simply gave us a form to fill out the accident details, which was very efficient. However, during the second rental return, despite no accidents, we were asked to take a form a long way to the front desk. The front desk attended to three people picking up cars before helping us, even though we arrived first. This was quite unsatisfactory.

    We specifically informed the staff at the counter that we did not want any additional insurance and the pick-up agreement stated a payment of $0 at the store. However, they added extra insurance without asking us and only asked for an electronic signature for confirmation. We thought it was for the deposit. When we returned the car, we found out an additional $150 insurance charge was deducted. It's very difficult to resolve such disputes in a foreign country, especially with language barriers. The staff only provided us with a complaint phone number and we had to complain ourselves. Changing our return date for this amount wasn't feasible, so we hope the rental car company can assist with this issue.

    Arriving at the airport branch before 8 AM meant no queues, but I still faced persistent upselling. They added a lot of insurance for me to sign. Thanks to QEEQ's pre-rental reminders, I knew I didn't have to pay extra as I had already paid in full. Despite repeatedly telling the counter staff that I had purchased comprehensive insurance in China, they insisted it wasn't valid, which was quite annoying. When I picked up the car, it didn't seem to match the model I had selected. A few days later, I rented the same model from AVIS and realized it had much more space. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for.

    Do not rent a car from Dollar in the US!!! / Do not rent from Dollar in the US. They offer lower prices online, but if it's crowded, they will tell you your reservation is canceled if you booked through a Chinese website. I had to wait in line for nearly two hours and was forced to rent a car without a reservation, costing me $393.01 for one day. They offer the lowest prices online, making it very busy here. Many people waited in line for over an hour just to reach the counter. Then, they informed me that my reservation didn’t exist. After spending nearly two hours there, I agreed to rent a Suburban as a walk-in, thinking it was a system error since they mentioned they had just upgraded their computer system that morning at 10am. Instead of paying $466 per week as per my reservation, I ended up paying $393.01 for just one day. A one-day rental costs as much as a week's reservation. I called customer service and realized later that this was a company-wide practice: they lure you in with low prices and then overcharge you.

    The service quality was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. We were left waiting under the scorching sun for hours before we got the car. The website promised on-time car pickup, which simply doesn't exist. The Ford Focus mentioned on the website wasn’t available; instead, we got a small Toyota, an Economic model. We were also required to pay for a full tank of gas and basic insurance. After paying 840 yuan in China, we arrived in the US only to wait a long time and were forced to pay an additional 184 dollars. If I had a phone at the time, I would have definitely called to complain, but unfortunately, I had just left LAX airport, didn’t know anyone, and didn’t have a phone number. Dollar is terrible, I think Hertz might be a good choice since it is one of the biggest car rental companies. Everyone should try Hertz next time.

Suburban is supposed to be a long car, also labeled as a premium SUV and stated to have a 7-seater capacity with room for 3 large pieces of luggage. But when I arrived to pick up the car, it was an old, short version of a Tahoe. With 7 seats set up, there was scarcely any room for luggage. The condition of the car was old and worn. I had to switch to a KIA MPV and pay an additional $40 per day. What a scam!!

Also, when I rented a car in Los Angeles, I was told there were additional road taxes, which made the total cost about 2000 RMB more than my original booking in China.     Your company clearly doesn't have Chrysler convertibles, only Mustangs. Why advertise falsely? Then you tried to make us pay extra to rent a Chevrolet sports car, which is twice as expensive. Various excuses were given, like the Mustang is not available, only one is in stock, and it's not coming back. You insisted we rent the Chevrolet. I said I don't need navigation or insurance, but you forced us to take them, otherwise the car price would be even higher. What's the logic? When I got to the US, it was too late to switch rental companies! It felt like there were too many uncertain factors, too many human errors! This company is nowhere near as professional, straightforward, and convenient as the SUV rental company I've used before. After waiting in line to reach the counter, the man initially greeted us with a smile but then spent about three minutes adjusting his watch before asking for our rental documents. When I called Zuzuche customer service, they confirmed I had purchased all the insurances. The man then tried to up-sell us a larger car for an extra $10 per day, which we declined. He insisted we prepay $67 for refueling, saying we should return the car with an empty tank, even though a full tank of gas for the Nissan we rented costs only $27. He then asked for a $75 deposit and demanded my signature, saying I could talk to the manager afterward because many people were waiting in line behind us. With no other option, I signed and spoke to the manager, who was the first person I saw. The manager promised to refund the deposit. When returning the car 15 hours earlier than planned, I asked the manager if I could get a refund for the unused time, but was told it was not possible. I had read online reviews about Dollar's poor service and aggressive charges, but experiencing it firsthand was worse than I imagined. I will never rent from Dollar again.

    The free shuttle was quite convenient. However, when picking up the car, the staff kept insisting that we buy full insurance, claiming that our coverage was insufficient and didn't include roadside assistance. Initially, I didn't want to add any more insurance, but my husband was concerned about potential issues if we didn't, so we ended up adding one, which cost about $30 more than what we had initially paid on the platform. They also tried to get us to pay $40 for a full tank of gas, which I refused. We found out later that there were nearby gas stations where filling up didn't cost nearly that much. The pick-up and drop-off process was quite smooth, and the car was fairly new.

    Dollar is absolutely awful. When picking up the car, I specifically told the clerk that I didn't need extra insurance. They verbally agreed, but still added over 200 dollars for insurance. I was in a rush to get to the hotel and trusted them, didn't check the paperwork and just signed it. My fault. I returned the car with a full tank and left the country, but over a month later, they charged my credit card without any notice. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with.

    There were hidden charges. The upgrade to third-party insurance at pickup was mandatory, and they also added roadside assistance insurance without asking me. These were options I didn't select while booking through the rental platform! Additionally, there were tax fees. So apart from the rental fee, I ended up paying more than double the cost!

    The fees quoted at booking were significantly different from what I was actually charged! Many options I didn't choose were claimed to be mandatory. I picked the cheapest car, but it ended up costing 7-800 per day, very unsatisfactory!

    I hadn't been to LAX in a long time and forgot how to find the shuttle, so it took me a while to locate it. The store wasn't very busy in the late afternoon around 6-7 PM. It shares the premises with Hertz. I waited in line for about 10 minutes before enquiring what cars were available. They offered me a Nissan Armada and a Ford Expedition, and recommended the Ford because it was a newer model. They suggested additional insurance, but I declined. The car was okay, though not exceptionally clean. There were some residual spots in corners not easily visible, but it was acceptable.

    Overall it's okay, this is my third time using Dollar. Pros: It's cheap and the car condition is decent (Hertz is better but more expensive). Friendly reminder: If you're renting without a US ID, you need to buy third-party insurance. On the platform, you can just buy the basic third-party insurance because the staff in the US will almost enforcefully upsell their road assistance (personal experience: even if you buy the full insurance package on the platform, they'll still try to sell you their insurance). The advantage of buying their upsold insurance is that you can freely choose your car (same class), but if you don't accept it, your vehicle will be fixed (based on experiences in Los Angeles and Orlando; unsure about other places).     Extremely frustrating. Rented a car for 12 days at a cost of 6000, but upon arrival (on time) we were told there were no cars available. They offered us an electric car instead. We had plans to travel across four states, including the very desolate New Mexico, and we were given an electric car. We asked the on-site staff if we could reach our destination with the electric car, and they clearly said no because there are not enough charging stations along the way. When we complained to the rental platform to get an explanation, they said they had given us a solution and we didn't accept it! What?! Is an electric car considered the same model as a gasoline car? Finally, after arguing, they made us wait for 2 hours. We waited from 9:30 to 12:00 and still no car. Eventually, we paid an additional 6000 for a slightly larger Hyundai, doubling the estimated rental cost. The customer service could only apologize and say there was nothing they could do because we didn’t accept the electric car.

    The car was in good condition, but the pick-up process took about one and a half to two hours with very low efficiency. The store staff continuously tried to upsell car upgrades and insurance, even after I clearly said no. It didn’t stop until I firmly refused at the end. After using my credit card and reaching the hotel, I found out that the agreed pre-authorization of $200 turned into $650. I’ll only know the exact amount after a few days when the charge is clear; if not, I might need to contest it. Overall, Dollar is slightly cheaper and the car is fine, but the store service is terrible. Comparing it to the neighboring Hertz is like night and day (Note: Dollar was acquired by Hertz, maybe to emphasize the contrast?).

At the car lot, you can choose your vehicle yourself, though it may not be the exact model you had in mind; it will be from the same series.     Dollar counter staff bumped my booking up by €300 when you have been travelling arrive late at night you really do not want to haggle on a price you think you have booked. Counter staff asked me to explain the vehicle protection insurance as I hadn’t booked directly with them? He also added on baggage insurance , medical insurance and daily toll road charges !!
