I rented from Europcar and my friend rented from AVIS. At Europcar, there were staff at both the pickup and drop-off points in the parking lot. However, at my friend's rental company, sometimes there were staff and sometimes not.
The guy at Europcar in Frankfurt train station was great, very enthusiastic, and did not try to up-sell anything.
Overall service was okay, but there was a tire burst and had to exchange the car. The roadside assistance was very slow, and a model worth thousands was taken by the staff from the car. It wasn't placed in lost and found even though it was just a few hours. Sigh.
The staff was very kind and humorous. He understood our language limitations well. Returning the car was very convenient; we just handed the key to the receptionist and confirmed the fuel tank was full.
