I booked a 5-door car, but initially, they gave me a 2-door small car. They kept telling me the car was too small and suggested I upgrade. They also tried to sell me insurance. When I had a problem with my credit card while paying, they asked me to wait aside and treated me unfriendly. Finally, after negotiating, they gave me a Volkswagen POLO. I've rented cars abroad before and most of the time you get an upgrade, but this time it was a downgrade. The attitude was noticeably worse after I refused to buy insurance or pay extra to upgrade the car.
There is a free shuttle bus from the airport, but the pick-up point at London Heathrow Airport was hard to find, and we had to wait a long time for the Europcar shuttle. The rental office is quite far from the airport. The car pickup was smooth overall; we booked an Audi A4 but received a Mercedes C-Class. The staff didn't try to upsell anything, but they also didn't provide detailed information on driving rules and other considerations.
The car rental office is right at the airport, very easy to find once you exit. The counter staff were very friendly and the paperwork was processed quickly.
Like: Polo was easy to drive. Great and smooth trip and GPS was much needed. Dislike: When picking up car, it was not parked at the slot mentioned. Had to ask for help.
