1. I had reviewed the car pick-up points earlier, and if you opt for full prepayment and super insurance, the car rental company generally won't push you to buy additional insurance. Their service attitude was good; they only asked if I wanted to upgrade the car group, and the process was quick. 2. Compared to other car rental companies, Alamo offers better value. I rented an SUV, and it seemed to be the cheapest after comparison. 3. The instructions after the paperwork were very clear, just follow the directions. At the designated area, you can choose any car within the group, but the fuel type wasn't indicated on some cars, so I had to rely on the manual. 4. One downside was that although they say it's a full tank, it wasn't fully filled, and after a short drive, one bar was gone. I felt a bit shortchanged. 5. When picking up the car, the staff only mentioned that you can choose any car in the group, but didn't say much else. Make sure to check the vehicle's instruments, and if there's any problem, change cars immediately. Take photos of any scratches and inform the staff if possible; I couldn't find anyone, so I just took photos.

The service attitude was average, and the wait time was slightly long but tolerable. There weren't many vehicle options, but the condition of the vehicle was satisfactory.

I took the wrong road and ended up with all four tires punctured. Thankfully, I had comprehensive insurance and called for roadside assistance. However, the tow truck service was really slow; I waited for two hours without any phone communication. I called ALAMO's customer service three times—they were very polite and had a Chinese translator. Although I mostly understood, having a translator made communication easier. I'm very satisfied with ALAMO, but extremely dissatisfied with the towing company!

Upon reaching our destination, the staff mentioned that the insurance purchased through Zuzuche only covers basic incidents. In case of accidents involving injury to others, medical expenses are not covered, and we needed to buy an additional insurance which was almost as expensive as the rental itself. For safety, we had to purchase the extra insurance. Originally priced at 180 USD, it ended up costing 291 USD at checkout.

I booked a Grand Cherokee, but they gave me a Nissan family SUV when I picked up the car. After negotiating, they said there were no cars left and I would need to come back the next day for a standard SUV. Since that was inconvenient, I decided to wait. Just as I was about to leave, the staff brought a Ford Edge. Although the Edge is far from a Grand Cherokee, I didn't want to waste another day changing plans and booking accommodations, so I accepted it. I paid over $1300 for a Grand Cherokee but ended up driving a family SUV. The entire trip was frustrating.

When picking up the car, the staff tried to sell me insurance, which I declined. Then they tried to sell me prepaid full tank gas at a bit over $2.20 per gallon, claiming it was cheaper than the city. I got confused and bought it. In hindsight, it wasn't a great deal. Firstly, the tank capacity is average for that car type, which might be more or less than my actual car's capacity. Secondly, you need to use up the fuel before returning the car, which is hard to gauge, requiring frequent refueling and mileage calculations. It's more convenient to refill near the return spot. The return process was quite fast, though. An inspector checked the car's exterior, issued a return receipt, and it was done in two or three minutes. Overall, it was a good experience.

The insurance visible to the counter was different from what I booked. No matter how I explained, they didn't understand. Ultimately, I had to seek help from local customer service who talked directly with the counter to resolve the issue. Luckily, we were two people. If we were traveling with kids or the whole family, the 2-hour delay would have been a bigger hassle. Who is responsible for this loss!!

The rental process was simple and the car was in great condition. The young man handling the pickup suggested upgrading to a full-size SUV based on our luggage, and this decision definitely enhanced our driving experience. The only drawback was that no one introduced the car's features and operations at pickup. As it was our first time driving a full-size American SUV, we were not familiar with many buttons and operations. Fortunately, after some exploration, we managed to understand them and had no issues during the entire trip.

They charged a lot of extra fees. Being abroad and not speaking the language, it would have been better to book on-site. I feel cheated and won't come back again!
