CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON THRIFTY AT HARRY REID INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, LAS

The rented car model was unavailable, and I thought I was getting a free upgrade. However, it turned out to be a mandatory paid upgrade, costing an additional $100 per day. I tried to decline other options but fell into the mandatory upgrade trap. I didn't understand it well and signed my name, accepting it, but I still feel deceived.

Convenient and efficient

They pushed insurance on me even though I already bought it all. They also charged me for a full tank of gas and a $30 road fee.

Thrifty and Dollar share the same counter. I waited in line for over an hour, and when it was finally my turn, there were no cars available. I had to wait an additional half hour.

It was alright, they still push insurance and GPS.

Waited in line for 2 hours to get the car, which was terrible. At least switching cars didn't cause any delays.

Unfair pricing, no clear rules! Too many hidden charges, it’s a trap!

When picking up the car, the salesperson insisted I buy insurance. I told them I had already purchased it on Zuzuche, but they said it wasn't comprehensive enough and pressured me to buy more. I didn't, and the salesperson was unhappy. Additionally, no return map was provided, and the Las Vegas rental location is quite a distance from the airport, making the return inconvenient. I used Google to find a return location, but ended up going to the wrong place, which cost me 20 minutes. Aside from these issues, the experience was quite good—very convenient, with a high degree of freedom in choosing cars, and quick return procedures!

With big companies, long queues can be unbearable and some people wait over an hour for their car. Here, both pickup and drop-off were fast.

Like: Quick easy and competitive pricing.
Dislike: Insurances were pushed 3 times when travel insurance documents covering were supplied.

The counter tries to upsell GPS and fuel, but everything else was fine.

Like: The car was good value and the service for booking in was efficient.
Dislike: The collection of the car was slow and we were just left without a chance to check the car for problems before leaving the parking area.

I had to spend the double, just because the sold me at the counter "you don't have any insurance, if there are any damages you have to pay full value of the car". that's a scam. Really unfriendly. Car was much smaller than the one provided with the reservation

I am very satisfied with the attitude of the staff at Dollar rental company, but the condition of the vehicle was not ideal. We chose a newer Dodge with seven seats, showing over 16,000 miles on the odometer. On the third day, the check engine light came on. Fortunately, our place was only a fifteen-minute drive from the rental company. We rushed over, and the staff quickly replaced the car for us. However, there were only two service windows open (others were not staffed), so we had to wait nearly an hour to complete the paperwork for the car pickup. When returning the car, it only took the staff a few minutes to tell us the inspection was complete.

They forced me to buy insurance.

Total cost was $94US but I saw a A$400+ charge on my credit card. No damage to car before or after and returned with a full tank. Looking for a credit in days to come, never advised that a holding amount would be taken.

Like: I love the truck and I didn’t want to let him go. Wish I could have bought him!!
Dislike: I didn’t like that there was no section numbering 11 and the ladies in the booth weren’t helpful until the 3rd time walking around the parking lot and me telling the ladies there were no trucks a gentleman walked up and asked if I needed help and got a truck delivered right away from the back after he saw me and my 11yr old daughter desperately looking for the truck section.

We were charged twice. The order said paid in full but we were charged another $300 when returning the car.
