There were two people ahead of me, but the wait wasn't too long. A blonde local girl processed my papers; just provide your driver’s license, passport, and translated documents. The QEEQ contract printout was useless. The reserved compact car was unavailable, so I got a free upgrade.
Very professional, no forced insurance sales, flexible rental days, and competitive prices. The return process was surprisingly simple, and I have a high trust in their customer service. Highly commendable.
“car not clean, many scratch, breaks have sound, they took money even after I made full tank”
About Budget:3.7/10
1-the car was exhausted with many scratches and breaks sounds.
2-I requested them to check tire pressure but they didn’t, I did It myself.
3-they didn’t show me the car scratches at pick up only they gave me the paper.
4-I felled the tank but they charged me 50 Turkish Lira.
5-they speaks very little English.
6-car requested was different.
7-lady at counter was professional but with little English.
They couldn't accept my dual-currency credit card, and they didn't inform me in advance. This delayed my trip and caused various troubles and expenses. Up to now, they haven't refunded my prepaid deposit. I have suffered significant losses, and the issue has yet to be resolved properly! Emails to customer service have gone unanswered!
The car rental service was acceptable. However, the store changed its address without any notice, making it difficult to find in a foreign country with a language barrier. Both the store and the car rental platform are responsible for this.
Staff were rude when dropping car off. They told me to shut up and I was going to go insane but I had a flight to catch. They were very very rude after dropping car off.
Found Budget at the airport, but the counter staff were not very friendly. They claimed there were no Clio cars available and asked me to pay an extra 5 euros per day for a Golf 7. They also charged me a 1000 lira deposit. After a long flight and lacking a local SIM card, I couldn't contact the rental company, so I agreed. However, I was quite dissatisfied with the local Turkish staff's attitude; they seemed like street gangs. The people at the pick-up point were nice though.
The staff at the return point were all great. When returning the car, I got stuck in traffic in Istanbul, then went to a gas station to clean the car inside and out. The car return point at the airport was hard to find, so I was over an hour late, but they didn't charge me any extra fees.
