ミニクーパーのオープンカーを予約し楽しみにしてたのですが、当日行くとミニクーパーは無いと言われGM車かマスタングから選べとかなりショックでした。
支払い時も現地の税金など聞いてないカテゴリが追加されて1万くらい高くて丁度デポジット分くらいだったのでデポジットから引かれるかと思ったら引かれず返却時に係員に聞いても契約書通りだからと言われ時間通りに返したのに早く返したから5ドル引いとくと言われただけでした。
色々と謎が多かったでので気持ちよくはなかったです。
車の使い方など係員に聞いてもあまりわかってなく色々触りまくって自分で分かったレベルでした。
以前借りたナショナルではこんな事なかったので今回の店がダメだったのかもしれないと思いました。
車もどれも傷だらけのボコボコばかりで海外なので気にはしませんでしたが、初めて借りるのであれば衝撃だと思います。
完全に今回の選んだ店はハズレでした。

受付時にバウチャーを見せても、最初からやり直しみたいな感じだった。

I booked a 2-door Wrangler, but the staff strongly recommended upgrading to a 4-door Wrangler for an extra $35 per day. I refused. When I went to pick up the car, they didn't have the 2-door Wrangler and gave me a free upgrade to the 4-door Wrangler. It's not sincere to push for a paid upgrade when the original car isn't available; a free upgrade would have left a much better impression. Other aspects were fine, the car's condition was acceptable, and the return process was quick with a final receipt provided.

The car was relatively new, and both renting and returning were very convenient. The staff was patient and enthusiastic. The car was cleaned inside and out. Usually, the paperwork is done in just a few minutes after you arrive at the garage. Very convenient! A great company!

At the Alamo car rental point on the Big Island, we were attended to by a female staff member. While her demeanor was consistently polite, she engaged in a somewhat intimidating manner of sales. There were three main upsells: first, the car model. She quickly realized that upselling to a larger model was impractical given our group size, so she moved on quickly. Second, the insurance. This was the most uncomfortable part for me as the website clearly states that it includes $20,000 in third party liability insurance. However, the saleswoman insisted that my reservation did not include this insurance. Instead, she claimed that if there were any third-party injuries or property damage, Alamo would only lend me $10,000 for compensation, which I would need to repay. She even mentioned that Chinese agents deceive consumers. Although I couldn't tell which side was truthful, it's clear that one must be lying. Please, clarify this matter further. She also tried to scare me with statistics about high traffic accidents and compensation amounts on the Big Island to sell me a full coverage package. Thirdly, she tried to sell me a tank of fuel, again using a scare tactic by saying the nearest gas stations to the airport are very far. However, I found a gas station quite close to the airport on my way back, and even after filling up, the fuel gauge still showed full when I returned the car.

The service was quite good, and compared to other companies, Alamo offers decent value for money. The same model is cheaper than some well-known companies. The vehicle condition was also good. When I arrived, there was a row of cars, at least five or six to choose from freely. But usually, it's just a matter of picking the appearance and color. Haha.

The shuttle service from the airport was great. The driver was very friendly and helped with the luggage. They even provided discount coupons. The lady at the counter was also nice. We used the discount to upgrade the vehicle, and the return process with full insurance was very fast.

We arrived half an hour early that day, and they told us we had to wait until the time on the order to get the car. Then they informed us that the Jeep Wrangler we booked was not available, and we could either switch to a Dodge or wait until someone returned a car. What?! Shouldn't the rental company consider the turnover rate of their cars when placing orders? So we waited for nearly an hour and had several discussions before we finally got our car. Moreover, it felt like the staff were somewhat discriminatory towards Chinese people. Several foreigners next to us also arrived early, and they got their cars immediately with smiles, while we were treated as if we owed them money. Anyway, considering we eventually got the car, we decided to not pursue it further.

The car rental company staff was very casual when giving us the car, telling us to just pick any Jeep from a bunch. They didn't hand over a specific car with the keys, which I think is very irresponsible. The car had issues that were not noted on any form! Additionally, the car's system malfunctioned! The electronic key wouldn't open the car, and using the manual key triggered the alarm. With the help of locals, we waited for five hours for roadside assistance!

Very satisfied. The service was excellent and the efficiency was high. Our flight was at 6:15 AM, and the car rental office opened at 5:15 AM. We were a bit worried and even considered returning the car the day before and taking a taxi to the airport the next day. However, the staff assured us that it wouldn’t affect our schedule. As it turned out, the car rental service was very efficient.

Last time I rented a car in the US, it was from Alamo, and this time it was just as good. The shuttle at Kona Airport arrived quickly, and there were plenty of service windows, so no waiting in line. They had a wide selection of vehicles, including a row of Jeep Wranglers—just pick the one you like. No hidden charges, and returning the car was very convenient.

Aside from the car's interior being a bit dirty (still within acceptable limits), everything else was excellent. I chose Alamo's self-service kiosk for car rental, where a staff member was very enthusiastic and helpful. The process was convenient, and incidents were handled promptly.
