It was a pretty smooth process overall, they tried super hard to sell us more insurance, which I hear is the norm with places like that. We ended up barely using the car in the end cos we were so paranoid about getting even a TINY scratch on the car. Lesson learned! Never again.
The process was very simple. When picking up the car, I just had to sign some papers and get the keys. When returning the car, I just handed over the keys and could leave. They charged a $70 pre-authorization before the rental.
The car had a mark we didn’t see on pickup . Needed the sun to highlight it. Took photo. On returning vehicle explained situation to staff. Was no problem.
We booked and got confirmed for a Toyota Camry, however when we picked up the car we got offered a Pulsar. So the front counter staff said he would get the manager to call me on the next day but I never receive any. He said he would expecting a Camry to be returned next day and would call but never happen but eventhough he should give me a refund credit for being offered a smaller car. In fact he tried to persuaded me to believe that Pulsar is similar to a Camry !! Until I said to him I used to live here and I bought a Pulsar in 1996 then he stoped.
Anyway the whole experience was bad.
Service was fantastic! Didn’t catch the NZ lady’s name that dealt with us but she was awesome & very friendly. The vehicle itself was fantastic & cleanliness was spot on! No problems whatsoever and when we come back to the Gold Coast I’ll definitely hire again through atlas! I recommend 100% THANK YOU :)

I felt that the lady at the desk was a bit abrupt and not overly helpful when sorting our booking as well as trying to scare us into booking further insurance despite explaining we already had our own insurance
We didn’t expect that our credit card would be debited by about $400 as a “hold’ until after we returned the car. And then to have to wait up to one week to have this amount transferred back onto our credit card seems unreasonable.
Sure just a ho,d on the card would have been all that was required. Being on a tight budget we really needed that amount for our holiday
I was happy with the pick up process. It was fast and easy. And I have to commend them for availing a car for a last minute decision during the school holidays.
On drop off my daughter realised she had left my glasses in the car so went back to retrieve them and was told she couldn't go back to the vehicle. As we were getting ready to board our flight we left. I've been trying to call to enquire but have been left waiting to have my calls answered. I don't have time to use your online services I'm on the road for long periods and calling is way more convenient.
Inconsistent information provided by counter staff at time of pick up versus drop off. Staff pretended not to know who the individual had been who checked out the car to me. No luggage cover for hatchback car leaving luggage exposed when travelling. Errors in what time to return the car, how much petrol to return the car with. Bald tires.

Very good overall except the pick up and drop off location is far away from airport and need to wait for shuttle bus to transport to and from the airport.

Didn't check mechanical issue of the car before handover to customer as a result receive car with fuel leaking issue and also receive the car with empty tank so didn't realise in first place when realise and call them they don't have similar car to change so told me that we will call back but no call back till end of renting period I end up with using my friends car as i don't want to tack risk with my kids and family. so basically its west of money and time as i am not able to use the car for almost four days of my trip out of seven days when I drop off the car they told me to do something to cover this issue but still waiting for their call so really not good experience at all with this rental car company hope some one will help us to resolve this issue soon.
