We scheduled our car return at 5 AM. Normally, there is no staff at this time, and if the car is in good condition, you can just park it at the store and leave the keys in the box. However, we had some scratches on the car. We went to the store the day before to discuss with the staff, and they arranged for someone to inspect the car at 5 AM, issue a damage report, and told us that as long as we purchased supplementary insurance in our home country, we could relax. We would need to pay upfront, then claim reimbursement after returning home.
The only comment I can make is a mix up on paper work. At one point we were expecting a Hyundai I35 and ended up with a VW polo. Though this car served our purpose well it may have been nice to have that little more space.
The car model was completely different from what was promised. The staff just said: There's nothing we can do, it's a car model group. How can a Ford seven-seater be the same as a Chrysler Grand Voyager (similar space to a GL8)? They arbitrarily decide what belongs to the same group without any prior reference.
There was a bit of a queue when picking up the car. I noticed it was the busiest among all the stores. The lady who assisted us had a strong accent, making it hard to understand her English, but she typed everything on an iPad to communicate. She tried to sell us insurance, but we politely declined. Returning the car was very easy; the staff quickly inspected the car and approved it. The car was in good condition, and having a 4-wheel drive was essential for the snowy and hilly terrain.
1. When contacting by phone at the airport, the customer service, although in Chinese, was very rude.
2. The rental location is a 10-minute drive from the airport in a small, inconspicuous house, with no noticeable store sign, giving a sense of insecurity.
3. The lady who attended to us was the same rude customer service representative. She immediately tried to sell us full insurance and demanded a deposit equivalent to around 23,000 RMB if we didn't buy it. This was the highest deposit we've ever encountered in our multiple car rentals. Fearing random deductions from the deposit, we reluctantly bought full insurance.
4. The lady was very unprofessional, threatening that we could opt out and be driven back to the airport. She knew it would be almost impossible for us to find another 9-seater car on short notice, so her behavior was simply to make things difficult for us.
5. I strongly recommend using a reputable car rental company. You can find reviews of Fara on Google Maps by searching for this company. It’s clear that this company is full of traps. However, this experience made us extra cautious, so when we returned the car, despite their thorough inspection, they couldn’t find any faults!
Good service. Even though we arrived late and our order was canceled, Thrifty still rented us a car. However, poor rating for QEEQ's customer service as they didn't help us resolve the issue and just said it was canceled because we were late. Poor service.
The deposit for the car was not mentioned! Had to pay 20,000 RMB with a credit card. This caused big trouble for many renters, including foreigners, who didn't have enough credit limit. Driving the car was nerve-wracking with such a high deposit.
The car pickup experience was very poor. We were assisted by a Chinese staff member who made us wait at the airport for a long time. When handling the paperwork, they tried to upsell storm insurance and gravel insurance, which I declined. They did not accompany us to inspect the car comprehensively; they just handed us the keys and let us go. The car return experience was better and quite efficient.
This car rental company charged us 300 euros for roadside assistance with a towing service, which was supposed to be covered by insurance. So far, they have not reimbursed us. The rental platform has not taken any action and has continuously delayed the issue.
Service was pretty good but the car we received was really quite old and worn out, had quite a bit of damage to it when we collected. Decent value for money conpared to prices of other companies with suv’s but probably the worst condition hire car i have ever used.
AVIS and BUDGET share the same counter with about 5 staff members. We arrived around 4 PM and there were about 6 groups waiting in line. We got to our turn at around 4:40 PM.
