When handling the car pickup procedures, they added some extra costs. Due to communication issues, it took a lot of time and was hard to understand the additional charges. The experience wasn't great. It would be better to have Chinese service during pickup and a more detailed explanation of the car's operation.

The car was brand new but the engine was noisy and seemed to have trouble shifting gears even though it was an automatic and I was always driving exactly the speed limit. I was pressured into buying $600 in insurance for the one-week rental because they said that if there was even a small nick in the paint from a rock I would owe tens of thousands of Euros. The woman at the sales desk wrote down some huge numbers of fines that I would be charged. I returned the car with 600 km of mileage and in perfect condition -- but I had been pressured to buy a ridiculous amount of insurance. I will not rent from them again.

I rented a Mercedes A class. They gave me a KIA which according to Keddy/Europcar is similar. Probably first country in the world where a KIA is similar to a Mercedes. I paid for a Mercedes and didn't get it. They also said that your insurance would give me problems if I would have an accident so I needed to buy their insurance. Had to wait almost 2 hours before I was helped. Very bad!!
We waited 1.5 hours to collect our car in Lisbon. The Europcar pick-up office was extremely busy and there was not enough staff. We arrived well ahead of our scheduled pick-up time and it still took an unacceptable amount of time to finally receive the car. Having said this, the staff were trying their best in the circumstances and were friendly and helpful as much as possible.
The staff was gentle and helpful when we picked and returned the car. The car was perfect for us. The only thing that is bad is that we will receive an invoice later in our country to pay the toll that we passed during our trip. Unfortunately, this is some problems for us when we return home...
When I first took the car, I found that the charging port was broken. However, after reporting it to the rental company, they replaced the car for me. But the replacement car was a bit dirty and older.
The car I got given was an automatic (I asked for a manual) and the guy at the pick up point initially refused to change it (no other cars apparently). I had to cry (not that hard after a mad journey and faced with a long journey at 1am) to get it changed...suddenly there was a manual car.

About SURPRICE RENT A CAR:7.0/10
The process to pick up the car took so long. People couldn’t find my reservation and did not reach quickly the easyrentcars. Staff not focused on providing a fast service to customers arriving sometime from a long flight and eager to enjoy vacation and not wiling to spend 1h30 for a car delivery. I will not use this service again, as the value for money to me is not worth in terms of convenience.
My experience with person on counter during pick up was excellent. I absolutely loved it. I am again going to book car from europcar just because the experience was pleasant with the guy on counter.
Pick up at Lisbon airport was "pickup point" but I didn't know that and was looking for a desk. Luckily Global were looking for me and stuck around for 20 minute til they found me. Excellent staff, excellent service and an almost new car.
The car was brand new so it was in great shape! The only thing that was disappointing was that Surprice gave the car to us completely empty, it was registering 0 km range left. So unfortunately we were very stressed trying to make it to a gas station in time, as well as driving in a new country.
Surprice rent a car, is a pressure selling company. The car collection is from an of site location and not on the airport. We had to wait for a bus to take us to another location. The staff I was on that day were rude. There only aim was to add services. In my case I had to rent a tag system for tolls. I was not told of the cost. While I was collecting my car, I saw a family harassed into buying additional insurance and services. At the end with reluctance the family paid an extra $925 US Dollars.
The car I recieved was not a golf but a Toyota Auruis. All the cars had some bodywork damage.
I decided to return my car a day earlier. I went to the return address which is 15 minutes away from the airport. I arrived just before 8pm, but I was waiting for 30 minutes plus to speak to an advisor. There were 2 on duty. As soon as he finished I told him I want to return the car earlier. He told me I have to pay 35 Euro.
I refused and returned the following day.
I initially rented a Mercedes A-class, but ended up with a Kia. When I asked the staff for an explanation, they said the booking was for a class of cars, not a specific model. If that's the case, what's the point of having so many models listed on the rental website? I saw an elderly lady next to me who got the Mercedes A-class, but we only got a Kia. The discrepancy is too disappointing.
We wait 90 minutes to pick-up the car, there was a mistake on the counter. The key/documents of the car was there all the time and they did not know that. We wait 60 minutes and after that we start chased them and they found. There was a lack of professionalism and the service was terribly and unfriendly, the staff was unable to give us the correct info.
