When returning the vehicle at about 9am on a Saturday morning there was no Budget staff at all. I parked the car and left the keys in the returns box and to date (2 clear days later) I have had no acknowledgement that the car was returned and that it was in a satisfactory condition.
I was inexplicably charged over 200 for repairs when returning the car. The photo showed some scuff marks on the wheel rims. I'm sure I didn't cause any damage while driving, but I didn’t take any photos as evidence when picking up or returning the car, so I ended up losing out. I recommend thoroughly inspecting the car and taking photos when picking up and returning it. The staff did suggest insurance for the wheel rims and glass, which I didn't purchase. The car was in good condition and fairly new. Dealing with foreigners, you need to be more cautious.
Car conditions were good.
However, service of the counter staff was beyond satisfactory.
There was only one staff at the counter.
He was working on another customer ahead of us but was too slow.
My family was were forced to wait more than 30 minutes outside in rain.
After 30 minute waiting I was told to show UK driver’s license and passport, which was ok.
However, I was also told to provide the National Insurance number of the UK, which I had never been told to provide in advance as necessary documents.
For foreign residents in the UK like me as expats, had never been aware of such number.
I was struggling to get the number on line from the government website but couldn’t get it after all.
It took another 30 minutes and he finally managed somehow without the number.
I was so anxious about not to be able to rent car without the number whereas he was trying to manage situation.
I often rent car in other EU countries but never had such bad treatment and long waiting before. It really annoyed me at the beginning of our holiday.
Really pleased with the service i received from the budget staff. A quick check in and the walk through questions were easily answered. The car was clean and ready to go after a run through the controls (all cars are different. ) The car was fuel efficient and a lovely drive ( Suzuki Vitara). Would recommend budget again. Drop off was easier . Well pleased.

I had never heard of easyrentcars.com before I googled car hire. Was really easy to pick and choose the car I was interested in and was shown different hire companies. All with differing offers and deposits and excess. The voucher option helped.followed the price and or evaluate if the price drops before picking up the vehicle. The drivers check that was asked for before pickup confused me as I had never had to do this before with other hire companies but I found it easy to do. Would definitely use Easyrentcars.com again.
