When picking up the car, the customer service aggressively pushed several insurance options. After refusing, they said they wouldn't give me the car without insurance. Had no choice but to purchase one insurance plan, costing an extra $14 per day. The service attitude was very poor. However, when returning the car, the customer service was great, polite, friendly, and meticulous.
The car provided was a Kia. The cleanliness was mediocre and the vehicle was not in good condition. Renting a car in the US is just bad; they always overcharge, and pursuing refunds after returning home is a hassle!
Last three times I have rented with AVIS the car was not cleaned / vacuumed. At first I thought they forgot to do it, but after three rentals in different cities I am beginning to think it's their policy to let cars through the system with apple cores and trash left in them for the next guy.
