The rental counter initially forced me to buy additional insurance. When I asked them to provide written proof of the insurance requirement, they changed their tune and said I could take the risk myself and then replaced my rental agreement. The whole process took almost 40 minutes, and the staff's attitude was poor. Considering I had just flown for 13 hours and still needed to drive nearly 100 kilometers, it was very frustrating.
The staff attitude was impatient, rushing us constantly and not giving enough time to review the contract carefully.
Overall, Budget car rental is decent, but some employees intentionally deceive customers into renting more expensive cars to generate higher fees. Chinese customers should take their time to carefully read the contract, and work on improving their listening and reading skills to avoid being scammed by such unscrupulous individuals!
Only thing missing were how to handle tolls on highways with the device installed in the vehicle and how to pay the tolls after rental.
Also it could be nice to have a more clear overview of requirements regarding insurance, it’s always a jungle!
