We booked a Ford focus or similar to fit two suitcase in. Budget tried to give us a Ford fiesta claiming it was the same thing and sell us an upgrade. They ended up giving us a Kia sol. When the bags didn't fit the persons handing over the car was very unhelpful and walked off after putting the seats down and throwing the bags in saying it was fine as there were only two of us. We went back into the office and and spoke to a different person who sorted us a car with a big enough boot to fit 2 bags in out of sight.

Their prices are the cheapest available and that comes with other prices. 30 min long line of people and no cars of the type you book are part of it. Other rentals will offer you free upgrade, budget will charge you for this and give you car you dont want - in my case it was truck. Lady at the counter told me that its not too big and she is driving it her self and it got back camera for parking which is necessity in LA and that mid size SUV is too small for 3 people. When I wanted different, smaller car they offered me mustang (literally the opposite of big car). Apparently I can wait until someone return car I booked and then I can take it. I canceled my booking and went to Dollar which is very well organized. Until today Im waiting for refund from budget.

I went to budget before renting a car , I assumed that budget will give me a price less than EasyRentCars. Unfortunate they gave me the car for 2800$ I was shocked! I told the lady on the counter that I found it cheaper, so I will book it online, she replied that would take an hour to appear on the system. I opened on EasyRentCars I found the car I want for 860$ I booked it. I went to the lady after 10 minutes she found my rental. I took the car for 1077$ with all total cost.

In the beginning, the customer service staff kept saying that there was no available booked car and tried to ask me to upgrade. After negotiations for a while, I finally got another car in the same class as what I booked.
When I picked up the car, the tire pressures were something wrong. But luckily, the on-site staff helped me to fix it.

When we picked up the car on the 14th of August from Los Angeles Airport, the counter staff member called Bruce was absolutely terrible. It was probably one of the poorest customer services I have experienced in my life. He was rude, bullying and even tried to sell us extra insurance even though we had bought the full insurance package covering everything there is. He was mocking us and had an attitude as if he was supreme. I don't understand how can you have a person like that on the job. Never using Budget again for renting a car, if that is what the company wants to represent. I would appreciate if you would forward this feedback to his manager.

Pretty awful. The building was run-down, and there were approximately 50 people in line ahead of me. There was no air-con and it was very hot outside. The woman at the counter was very rude and almost did not accept my reservation because I purchased it in NZD. She gave me a "free" upgrade after I refused the offer to pay for one, and the vehicle I received repeatedly gave me a "low oil" warning - scary to drive!

The waiting time for the shuttle from LAX was over 30 minutes which was really very inconvenient. Another thing, I wish that they don't allow smoking in their vehicles. Here is another example of overcharging with Budget Car Rental LAX and despite using them for years, I think this the last time.
Booked and paid in full #40548011 for a mid SUV 27th Dec-9th Jan and when arrived for pickup said they didn't have one available. All they could offer was a Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 open back truck which was so impractical for business and luggage which got soaked in between hotels.
I didn't want all the optional extras apart from the unlimited toll charges as I was advised there were tolls between LA and Vegas and to be fair it's been years since I went to CES in Vegas so accepted but that was a crock of sh**t as I didn't pass one in 2 weeks.
On return we filled up at Mobil 765 N Sepulveda no more than 3 miles from the airport so as far as I was concerned was expecting just a charge for tolls.....
On the 11th January I was charged a huge $485.50 for additional services including $142 for tolls, $97 for roadside assistance plus and a massive $190 for fuel. Scandalous!!!!
We have spent the past 2 weeks disputing this through QEEQ which to be fair are brilliant but they are not budging despite even sending a fuel receipt from my expenses only 10 minutes before the vehicle was dropped off. This is not acceptable for a multinational repulatable company and should be ashamed of their practices. If this is not sorted soon then we are going to use our company solicitors to persue it further

Everything was good in most aspects, but I was really frustrated. My husband didn't bring his own credit card, and BUDGET is the only company that doesn't allow multiple drivers under one card. Rent Rent Car didn't know about this rule, so I ended up driving over 2000 kilometers by myself. As a woman who has never driven for so long and was supposed to be on vacation, I almost cried. There were a lot of people picking up cars, so I had to queue for a long time, but the process was relatively simple and efficient. Returning the car was extremely convenient and took only about 5 minutes. A big thumbs up! I rented a big pickup truck, which was a bit expensive, but it was brand new with only 10 kilometers on it, and even the protective film on the handle was still there!

They gave me a Buick SUV instead of the Ford I had reserved, claiming both cars were in the same category and were of equal value. I wasn't aware of this at first, so I waited for half an hour for a car that was not prepared in advance. When I noticed the car wasn't the same, I went to discuss it. Budget will still try to sell you insurance, although I didn't quite understand what kind of insurance they were trying to push. They will tell you that most Chinese people don't have it and that you should buy it. They repeat themselves and make it sound serious, but you can politely refuse. As long as you purchased the corresponding insurance from the rental website, it's fine.
I arrived an hour early, and my car wasn't available yet. They suggested an upgrade, which I refused. However, the car was ready in about ten minutes.

1. It took 2 hours to complete the paperwork and pick up the car. 2. The order was for a Ford Edge, but they replaced it with a Mitsubishi. The staff searched the parking lot for an hour, only to find out that the car wasn't there. They then replaced it with a Honda CRV. The car models kept getting smaller, and I wonder if the price changed as well. 3. The staff kept pushing additional insurance and delayed the processing of the car rental. Overall, Budget car rental is decent, but some employees intentionally deceive customers into renting more expensive cars to generate higher fees. Chinese customers should take their time to carefully read the contract, and work on improving their listening and reading skills to avoid being scammed by such unscrupulous individuals!

Take note of my painful experiences and let this be a reminder for those planning to rent cars. The Budget store near Los Angeles airport is very sketchy! They especially like to rip off Chinese customers! We needed to rent two cars and had booked and paid in advance. Normally, we would just go to Budget and pick up the cars. However, the customer service there misled us and tried to force us to upgrade the vehicle or change the insurance from partial to full coverage. Here’s what happened: I rented a full-size Chevrolet which was the cheapest option on the car rental website. A woman who looked to be of Mexican descent named Rose attended to us. She immediately tried to get us to upgrade to an SUV, claiming that small cars don't have EastPass (similar to ETC in China, for automatic toll payment). I was baffled because I had rented cars before and knew that EastPass had nothing to do with the size of the car and could be rented for a few dollars a day. When I insisted on a small car and said I didn't need EastPass, she seemed to concede but then pulled another trick. On the small screen, there were several options to agree or disagree with. When I repeatedly asked if there were additional charges, she said no. I didn't read carefully and agreed. Then she charged my credit card over a hundred dollars, claiming it was a deposit that would be refunded. This was the biggest scam which would become apparent upon returning the car. My friend rented an SUV and was serviced by a black man. He insisted on changing to full insurance for more money. I said we only wanted partial coverage and had already paid. He argued that since the car wasn't in my name, I couldn't decide and my friend had to agree. Wasn’t that absurd! My friend repeated what I said and he finally gave up.
Getting the car: The woman must have been angry about not scamming me (pre-charging my credit card was already a scam), so she gave me an unpopular Chrysler with strange gear settings. The car was in poor condition. Luckily, I managed to switch to a Toyota with the help of a black guy at the car park.
Returning the car: It was quick and they handed me the invoice after a brief check. I noticed they charged me an extra hundred dollars from the so-called deposit. I couldn’t accept this and inquired at the return desk. The woman there said it was for full insurance and since I signed, it couldn’t be refunded. Furious, I demanded to speak to her manager. After lengthy arguments, they finally canceled the charge. I was still determined to complain about that woman named Rose as I couldn't swallow this injustice.
Lesson: Always read thoroughly before signing. Don’t rush. Understand everything clearly to avoid being misled or scammed. If your rights are violated, insist on speaking to the manager and fight for your interests.

Please be very cautious when choosing Budget and the Zuzuche platform. The Budget staff did not actively ask us about additional items outside of our order; instead, they just added them in. Since there were many people in line, I didn't have time to check everything. Twice I confirmed with the Asian staff member, Rose, that all my fees matched my original order, and she said they did, and only asked for my signature. In the end, I was charged for three additional items, which amounted to half of the daily rental fee. When I communicated this with the Zuzuche platform, they told me that my signature proved I accepted the charges. I am speechless that this platform partners with Budget!

Thankfully, I had read online about these insurance scams before, and after scrutinizing for a while and questioning, the front desk tore up the initial contract and issued a new one. However, our originally booked four-door compact car was replaced with a two-door car. It seems like a downgrade, and it wasn't any of the car models mentioned on the rental site. The rental company didn't admit the downgrade when contacted. So, what's the point of having separate options for two-door and four-door cars on your booking page? Also, I clearly saw other car options listed under the counter initially, but after I refused to buy the new insurance, they changed my car to a smaller two-door model. There were plenty of cars waiting to be rented in the lot. After driving the car for three days, it showed a need for an oil change, even though I hadn't driven that much. Clearly, the store doesn't care about maintenance schedules. We wasted around three hours getting the oil changed. The rental website's customer service said we could get a refund for the oil change fee by showing the receipt when returning the car, but the rental company said our money went to the third-party booking agency. It seems the rental website isn't as professional as claimed, just a bit cheaper. The shuttle service to and from the airport was convenient with frequent buses.

I've used Zuzuche many times and always used my US driver's license to pick up the car. This time, Budget insisted on a Hong Kong or Mainland Chinese driver's license. Although I have those, I didn't bring them, which caused a lot of trouble. Neither my Chinese passport nor my Hong Kong ID was accepted, and even a photo of my Hong Kong driver's license wasn't good enough. Really frustrating.

Had to wait over an hour to pick up the car. The counter informed me that there were no cars available for my original reservation and asked me to upgrade to a more expensive model or they wouldn't honor the booking. Additionally, they added insurance that was already included in the original full coverage. Out of urgency, I had no choice but to agree. After returning home, I found that the original order stated that a free upgrade would be provided if the original model was unavailable. Contacted the rental company, and they insisted that the signed documents abroad were definitive. Be cautious when renting a car!

The car pick-up and return process was relatively smooth. Due to communication issues, despite being informed that full insurance was purchased, additional insurance and other unreasonable fees (such as a toll device that cost over $100 as soon as it was installed) were added at the time of pick-up. After returning home, the post-rental service representative from the rental platform was very responsible and managed to recover most of my losses. It looks like I need to review the rental terms more carefully. This time, having a young man proficient in English with us ironically made us overlook this step. The contract was displayed on a very small screen, and due to fatigue from long-distance travel, we just signed after a brief verbal explanation. This serves as a valuable lesson. Thanks again to the post-rental service staff.

It was easy to find the Rental Cars shuttle stop outside LAX airport. There were many Budget shuttles and the transfer to the store was quick. However, we waited in line at the store for 70 minutes before being attended to. The paperwork was slow and there were insurance upsells (which I declined). It took almost 2 hours before we could leave the store with the car. The staff noticed we had a lot of luggage and proactively arranged an SUV for us.
