CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON THRIFTY IN VANCOUVER

The first car we got was a Toyota that smelled like rotten fish, so we switched to a Dodge. When returning the car, the staff said there was a small chip on the windshield and blamed us for it. Honestly, the chip was very tiny, and we only drove in the city for three days, so it shouldn't have happened. We suspect it was there when we picked up the car, but the garage was quite dark, and we missed it. Interestingly, another Chinese customer before us was also blamed for the same reason! So, friends, be very careful when picking up your car! Don't trust the rental company blindly!

Average service. Not sure if it was because we arrived a bit early, but after completing the paperwork, the wait for the car was slightly long.

Car alignment was terrible and had to continuously make adjustments to keep the car straight. Caused high fuel usage as a result. We can't do anything during our rental period as we were out of town and only made comments on our return. Nothing was said on our comments.

Overall, it was fine. The staff had a good attitude when returning the car.

There wasn't a long line when we arrived, but after being informed we already purchased additional coverage, they still tried to sell us insurance. Although it wasn't mandatory, it felt a bit pushy. However, they patiently helped us check the terms of our purchased insurance and her recommendations to see if there were any overlaps...

Extremely poor experience. The staff on duty repeatedly recommended other vehicles. Later, when we realized how much more expensive they were and refused, he made excuses that our car was no longer available and made us wait while ignoring us. After a long wait, we lost our patience. One car had an additional charge of 1040 CAD and the other 840 CAD. I was about to file a complaint with your rental company! This company will not be used in our circle again. Extremely angry!

The car rental experience with THRIFTY in Vancouver was very pleasant. The vehicle was clean and well-maintained, and the pickup and drop-off process was quick and easy. The staff were polite and professional. I will definitely use THRIFTY again in the future.

This company is a subsidiary of Hertz. Both pickup and return were very convenient. For returning at Calgary airport, make sure to follow the signs instead of relying on the GPS. Based on previous comments from friends, this advice is very useful, so I am emphasizing it again! Overall, the car is new, the tires are new, and the condition is great. Highly recommended!

A bit of a rip-off. The attendant told me that gas was expensive outside and suggested I return the car with an empty tank, and they would refill it for cheap. However, they charged me for a full tank at their 'cheap' price, so I ended up losing a lot. Make sure to return it with a full tank! Also, their recommendation was not good at all. Who would return a car with an empty tank without worrying about running out of gas on the way to the airport? It wasn't actually cheaper at all, don't listen to them. Additionally, they charged me $15 for airport parking, which was really frustrating.

Did not get the Corolla as advertised but instead an Elantra, still a good drive though.
