Car advertised was toyota corolla or similar.
The car I was given was a Opel Crossland.
Fuel was not filled to the max.
Windscreen wipers needed replacing.
Tyre Pressure warning light came on after 1 day driving.
No reverse camera.
Unable to use a debit card to to secure insurance excess, had to pay for full insurance for complete duration.
Only 1 staff member at desk on arrival, took a very long time to process pick-up.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
Booking was smooth however car advertised is not what is given
There was no information on what type of fuel was needed, and there was no vehicle manual inside the car. The lack of detailed instructions makes it less user-friendly compared to car rental services in other countries like Japan.
“Forced to upgrade to full cover at 4 times the price. You suck Budget”
About Budget:6.0/10
Our check-in person wasn't very nice and forced me to upgrade to their full cover as I didn't have a credit card, they would not accept my excess cover I had purchased elsewhere. The upgrade to full cover was also over 4 times what it would have been if I had selected this option at time of purchase (€20 vs. €90). Pretty predatory. Also the car was only half full of petrol when we picked it up. Our check out person was very nice though.
They push high-priced insurance, and if you don't buy it, they freeze a 2000 Euro deposit. Be cautious if your credit limit is low. However, the deposit is refunded quickly; if you return the car during the day, they refund it immediately.
The pick-up point is not at the airport, you need to take a shuttle bus which comes every 15 minutes. If you miss it, you'll have to wait in the cold for a long time, especially during winter. I recommend not renting at this spot if you're in Dublin. Moreover, the car provided was poorly equipped! It was an older Suzuki without cruise control, had a poor sound system, and the gear shift felt mediocre.
There were many people picking up cars, I waited in line for an hour and then another 20 minutes for the car to be prepared. The car given was smaller than the one I booked, with only space for one 24-inch suitcase. I didn’t want to waste time arguing as I had an appointment. Overall, the car was in good condition and the Bluetooth connected quickly.
“Overall satisfactory given the price and condition of the vehicle.”
About Budget:7.0/10
The car only had a quarter tank of fuel despite there being a full tank policy and Budget retained a fuel deposit. However, upon notifying Budget, they assured me that there would be no charges to my account.
