Pick-up Instructions

For International arrivals: Exit the main terminal and make your way to the 'Off-Site Shuttle Transfer' where the shuttle marked 'AutoUnion' will collect you. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. Please call on 0064 99490944 to arrange pickup. Please use Free Telephone at the Airport help desk if you are not able to use your phone. For Domestic arrivals: shuttle area is just outside door 8 of Jet Star Terminal. You may also come directly to our office to pick up the car. Online check-in is mandatory for after-hours pickups. Please email us 24 hours prior to pick up on 'accounts@autounion.co.nz' to do the online check in if you are arriving between 19.01-06.59 Autounion office : 104 Montgomerie Road, Māngere, Auckland 2022

Driver's License Requirements

The main driver and any additional drivers will need to provide a physical full driving license in their name with no major endorsements. The license should be held for at least 1 year(s).

Original driving licence + NZTA Translation

Ferry Transportation: Not Allowed

Autounion does not allow to bring the rental vehicle to ferry. You will drop off your car at one port and collect another after crossing to the other island. A minimum of 3 days consecutive rental required in each island (If the minimum length of rental requirement is not met, then the rental will be charged as two separate hires.).

Due to business trips, I frequently use car rental services, but I will never use this company again, even if the prices are very cheap. There are too many hidden charges. Firstly, the front desk staff deliberately slowed down their work because I didn't buy the insurance they recommended, and they found various excuses not to give me the keys. When returning the car, they told me that the front windshield had some scratches and asked me to pay for it. After cleaning the windshield with water, I found it was just dirt and not really damaged, but then they started finding other problems. Such disgusting service is really frustrating. The tricks are too many, with lots of hidden charges, and they even justifying it by saying it's just business. It's very obvious they are trying to rip off customers.
