Although I had purchased full insurance from the rental company and prepared a credit card for the deposit, the staff kept pushing their insurance. Even after showing the English version of the contract stating I had full insurance, they refused to acknowledge it. When they tried to process the deposit pre-authorization, they made mistakes and it showed as failed. However, after calling my credit card bank, I confirmed that the first attempt was successful and had an authorization code. The car rental staff refused to verify this, seemingly forcing me to buy their insurance or they would cancel my reservation! It took two hours to finally get the car, greatly affecting my schedule. The pre-authorization occupied £1250 of my credit limit. Appealing this seems like a long wait. Extremely unsatisfactory!
The rental company staff were very friendly. Despite the long delay caused by issues with the QEEQ platform, they were patient and continuously assisted us in resolving the matter.
They do not accept international credit cards without a chip and push for insurance sales. If you don't have a chip credit card, you must buy insurance to pick up the car.
Arrived at 11 PM. It was cold and raining in Edinburgh; only two staff members were working, and they were slow and had an average attitude. I had read about others’ experiences beforehand, so I came prepared with a China Merchants Bank Platinum International Card, embossed, Visa-only, no UnionPay mark. But when picking up the car, they said the card couldn't be used for the deposit; I had to purchase full insurance on the spot to get the car. The insurance payment went through, and they explained that transactions and deposits go through different channels. They didn’t accept cash deposits, and I couldn’t cancel the order at that point, so I ended up paying £600+ for insurance. I saw other Europeans having the same issue when picking up their cars, so it felt like the company makes money off these insurance fees. I’ve never experienced such a scam in other countries. Warning other travelers not to fall for this.
1. During my rental period, I experienced a flat tire in the middle of nowhere at 8:30 PM (still within business hours). I called the rental office, company headquarters, and other contact numbers, but none were reachable. I couldn't get any assistance from the rental company. Fortunately, the car manufacturer's roadside assistance service helped me out. Not being able to contact the rental company during business hours is extremely disappointing.
2. When I purchased additional insurance, the service representative miscalculated the amount I needed to pay. After I pointed it out, they pretended not to notice and simply corrected the amount for me to re-pay.
3. The deposit payment method is extremely strict, requiring a £1500 deposit but only accepting credit cards with chips. My credit card from home doesn't have a chip, so I had to purchase additional insurance to lower the deposit amount. Throughout this process, the rental company's staff were not friendly.
The website mentioned a shuttle bus, but no one answered the phone after calling for over 10 minutes. When I complained in-store, the manager acted like there was no issue with the phone, blaming me instead.
They kept pushing us to buy insurance until we called the rental company, but still scared us with tales of daily tire blowouts in the Scottish Highlands. When we stated we would return the car with a full tank, they looked displeased, and eventually added an extra driver. The long dispute and refueling extended our pickup time by two hours, but the return time stayed unchanged according to the contract, and reasoning with them was futile.

The platform did not offer an option to prepay the rental fee, resulting in no suitable automatic transmission wagon being available upon arrival at Belfast Airport. Four people plus four large suitcases had to squeeze into a small car, leading to a poor experience.
1. The store is slightly far from the airport without clear directions. 2. They do not offer a paper contract to confirm the items charged. Despite clearly stating that no insurance was needed, they refused to provide a paper contract, forcing us to buy insurance and a tank of fuel. 3. The requested contract has not arrived even after half a month. 4. They charge a huge deposit. 5. Constantly pushing sales.
