After we had paid and thoroughly inspected the car, ready to depart, the staff rudely blocked our car, claiming that some guests upstairs needed this vehicle and we couldn't take it. I explained that we were short on time and needed to get to the Alhambra Palace without any delay. They wanted to switch it for a regular sedan which couldn't accommodate our luggage. Moreover, their reasoning was unacceptable; the type of car other guests use and the cars provided by the rental company are irrelevant to me, and I had no obligation to switch. However, the staff continued to insist and blocked us for more than ten minutes, causing us to miss our visit and rendering our pre-booked tickets useless, leaving us very disappointed.
Like: The car I ended up renting was a completely different car from the one I rented and so my price ended up more than double of what I payed through the website ... that said, I fell in love with Fiat 500 convertible.. I found parking everywhere I needed it. And I loved driving in the mountains with the roof of!! Dislike: The massive attempt to make me buy more insurance and I felt pressured into upgrading to a different car.
Took a number and waited... waited until no one was left, the numbers didn’t update. It turned out the original method was to go directly to the counter if you arrived first. I ended up waiting for nearly an hour without knowing this.
The pickup point had no English assistance and no insurance terms were explained. Despite buying insurance domestically, we were forced to purchase it again there. No one explained the coverage and there were no written terms. Unlike major companies with counters inside the airport, we had to walk a long distance to find a shuttle with no signs or directions. It took us over an hour to find it while dragging our luggage. The drop-off location had no signs, the process was complicated, and it took us 3 hours to find the underground parking. If you don't speak Spanish, avoid this company and choose an international one.
Dislike: Full insurance bought online when booking wasn’t enough, I had to buy additionnal coverage from record in order to be safe and it doubled the rental price and the car was still with handle opening windows in the back seat and no antenna for the radio
Like: I had booked Ford Kuga Intermediate SUV from EasyRentcars website. The rental company was Autoclick for 7 days rental for about total of 71 euros.
I paid additional to the hire company for emergency roadside assistance and additional fees for taking the car to Gibraltar; however that was a waste as we went to Gibraltar by foot and used their public transport. The excess insurance was taken separately from other website.
On arrival at Malaga airport, we had a bit of difficulty in finding the coach stop to board the Autoclick Shuttle. But from there on it was all as expected. The car offered to us was near new Ford Kuga 2.0 titanium. Inbuilt GPS and Bluetooth integration. The best in its class..!
The car was spotless inside and out. The deal was a no hassle full to full tank.
On return of the car - it was again very quick and very professional.
Overall we had a very good trip and thanks to both EasyRentcars and Autoclick for such a wonderful experience.
Firstly, I recommend buying full insurance, which was 64 euros for 2 days; I bought it. The biggest issue with this rental company is that they require a full tank service with two additional charges: a 24-euro service fee that is non-refundable and a 65-euro fuel fee that is refunded based on usage. Very disappointing.
No need to queue, but despite buying full insurance online, they still asked us to buy one for 15 euros per day. Due to language issues, we didn't argue much, but felt there was a coordination problem.
Like: I was picked up from the airport terminal by a really professional and friendly employee. My flight arrival at Malaga airport was delayed by over an hour and opening time for Alamo/Enterprise had already passed. In spite of this, I pleasantly found that 2 of the hire company's employees waited for me and were very efficient and friendly inspite of my late arrival. They were not only past their closing time, but were extremely professional and efficient as well as very welcoming and personable. It was such a breath of fresh air being greeted by them (I'm so sorry I didn't memorize their names) after an eventful and tiring day - having left my house very early in the morning for an 8 hour shift at work, only to then rush to London St Pancras station in order to catch the 5pm service to Luton Airport and then find upon my arrival there that all trains had been cancelled. Then having travelled to Victoria Station across town to try and catch a useless coach that wasn't even stopping at the airport but in Luton Town centre instead. Eventually, when we reached the airport after a £70 uber trip, only to find that the Easy Jet flight to Malaga was delayed. Again, having been waited on, picked up and served so efficiently and warmly by the 2 Alamo employees who stayed behind over their time at work, was a breath of fresh air among so many bad experiences with other car rental companies elsewhere in Spain and beyond. Thank you guys - keep up the quality of service you have provided me with and you will have my custom for a very long time. So sorry I can't remember your names.
I booked an Audi A3 but was initially given a Japanese car, and they told me it was a similar model. I had to complain and almost argued before they finally gave me the A3.
