The service representative was extremely friendly and attentive. They upgraded us to a Megane for free. The car was new and in great condition. Super satisfied.
Scheduled a pick-up time but ended up waiting for an hour and a half. The customer service kept asking companions to switch cars and sold them a product she still doesn't know. Despite having over ten people in line, only one person was assisting, and no one explained the car's condition, leaving us to figure it out ourselves.
The addresses for the pick-up and drop-off locations were completely wrong, making it incredibly hard for us to find them and nearly causing us to miss our flight. The staff member at the pick-up location had a terrible attitude and insisted we purchase additional insurance. Later, we had an accident, and upon returning home, I found that they charged an extra $70 on top of the $444 pre-authorization. This makes no sense since we had purchased full insurance from them! There was also no claim form provided, and the car we got was much worse than a Golf.
Very bad. The QEEQ order only showed Shouqi Car Rental without informing the user that the actual partner company was Europcar locally. Both the pickup and dropoff addresses were incorrect, causing a lot of wasted time! Almost missed the flight!
Had to wait a long time while picking up the car and didn't know where to leave the keys when returning it at the airport the next morning, which caused a delay.
Alamo's service is terrible. According to the order, I was supposed to pick up the car at 8:00. When I arrived, they said there were no cars and I had to wait until 9:30 for a car to come from the airport. Their attitude was very rude and unapologetic. I had to repeatedly communicate and negotiate with them from abroad, which was costly. At 9:20, they finally gave me a car, which had been parked right in front of the service hall all along. Additionally, they demanded extra charges in euros. My schedule was very tight, and this delay ruined my plans, causing me to miss a tourist spot. Overall, it greatly affected my mood. Stay away from Alamo.
Various upsells and extra charges. Price details were not disclosed in advance. They arbitrarily changed the vehicle type, which is outright deception. I've rented cars abroad many times and have never encountered such service. The staff has a terrible attitude. I recommend everyone to avoid renting from this company!!!
There seems to be malicious intent to fraudulently charge for insurance. When picking up the car, I was never asked to buy insurance. Even knowing that I had already purchased rental insurance, they added extra insurance and tricked me into signing.
The rental counter staff kept pushing us to buy insurance and threatened that we would have to pay 1600 Euros for any collision if we didn't buy their insurance. No matter how much we explained that we've already bought comprehensive insurance in our home country, she didn't understand and insisted that we would be responsible for any damages.
1. When I picked up the car in Seville, my flight was delayed. Because of this, the staff at Hertz at Seville Airport gave my reserved BMW 1 Series to someone else and only had an Alfa Romeo left. It's not my fault that the flight was delayed, is it? 2. I was not satisfied with the car Hertz gave me. It was clearly of a lower class than the BMW. I wanted a BMW 1 Series because the streets in the old town of Spain are very narrow, and I needed a small car. Instead, I got a big car. Driving through the narrow streets of Seville's old town, rushing for 120 kilometers, and having to find spots to let others through in one-car-only streets was a nightmare. I’m not a bad driver; I have 10 years of experience and just didn't want any trouble abroad. 3. The most important issue was that the staff pushed me to buy insurance but didn't inform me about the refueling policy. Because of this, I had to pay for a full tank of gas when returning the car. Excuse me? I contacted QEEQ customer service online, and they told me to report it to Hertz, which was clearly shirking responsibility. Can you imagine being alone abroad and feeling helpless? Shouldn't QEEQ, where I made my reservation, take full responsibility? The receipt from the staff was entirely in Spanish, and I had to find a friend to translate it late at night. I did not agree to the full tank policy. If they had told me about it, I wouldn't have let them do this. My English is fine, and they never mentioned this. The usual policy is to take the car with a full tank and return it the same way. Otherwise, you'll be charged a high fuel fee because the car rental company needs to pay extra labor costs to refuel the car, and labor is expensive abroad. Charging for a full tank upfront should be an optional service, and refueling it yourself before returning the car is more economical. The fact that they did this makes me think there’s something dodgy going on at that branch since they can price the fuel themselves and charge a high labor fee. This was the worst customer service experience I've ever had with a rental car. I have to be honest, even if I risk not getting the 600 RMB rental coupon for a good review.
The service was okay, but there were scratches on the car that were not shown in the computer system. Fortunately, I noticed them when picking up the car and informed the staff.
I want to highlight this issue: I reserved an automatic car, but when I arrived at the store they told me only manual cars were available. Fortunately, I can drive a manual, otherwise, my trip would have been ruined! Driving a manual car on European hills is extremely dangerous!! The language barrier added to the frustration as the store didn't offer a partial refund. It took two months to resolve it through the app after returning home!! If I had known this would happen, why would I book so early? I had already paid in full, and they didn't reserve the car for me! It's really poor service.
I arrived a bit early to pick up the car and was told I could only get another car by paying extra. When it was my scheduled time, the car still hadn't arrived, which basically meant they couldn't provide my car on time and tried to upsell me. The car finally arrived 20 minutes after my scheduled pick-up time.
The return address was also incorrect, which caused me to wander around for a long time. Despite filling up the tank, they claimed it was slightly under and charged me 36 euros. A full tank costs just over 50 euros, and they wanted to charge 36 euros for a tiny discrepancy. It's outrageous.
