I must say, it was excellent. The car we picked up was brand new with only 780 miles on it. Our FORD ESCAPE was upgraded for free to an EXPLORER. We drove 4000 miles and were very satisfied.
The company is good, but there was a bit of confusion at the counter. They kept saying I hadn't purchased insurance along with the car rental and were urging me to buy insurance for $5 a day. I was sure I had already bought it, but in a rush, I ended up buying it. Just something to be aware of.
The order was for a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but they use this car to attract attention and induce bookings. Upon arrival, they directly said they didn't have this car, and even said they didn't have a Santa Fe, which was in the same group. The staff kept emphasizing upgrading the car group. Unfortunately, I didn't stick to my decision and got persuaded into paying an additional 553.14 USD. There were no directions given either; I had to find a Dodge Journey SXT by myself in the parking lot. There were actually several Grand Cherokees parked, but they might not have been ready for rental.
The pick-up process was not very smooth. I have rented cars in Los Angeles many times, and I only needed to present my Chinese driver's license. But this time, I was assisted by an older Indian man whose attitude was extremely cold, filled with arrogance and disdain. He insisted we provide a translation of the license. Later, we switched to a white service agent, and we didn't need any of that—just signed and took the car. The mindset of Indian and Pakistani staff really needs to be adjusted.
During the drop-off, they insisted that we write down the mileage, which was never required before.
Like: Very easy self service pickup. Great car. Good fuel economy and so comfortable.
