Service was good, but the car only had 3/4 tank of fuel when picked up, which means users have to refuel more when returning. It was a gasoline car and consumes more fuel.
I booked a Volkswagen but ended up with an Opel after some hassle. The car's built-in GPS was very useful. Germany is really great for road trips; driving at 180 km/h felt effortless.
Very poor service from the rental location. They exploited the language barrier to add hidden charges, increasing the total cost deceptively. They even swapped my car for a small Opel SUV, which was totally unexpected.
The airport counter staff were extremely friendly. Even when I returned the car to the wrong location in the garage, they still efficiently helped me with the return process.
Arrived at Frankfurt train station, took nearly half an hour by taxi to get to the car rental company Enterprise, only to be informed that the selected automatic Volkswagen station wagon was not returned, and they only had a manual version of the same car. Considering the complex road conditions in Europe, coupled with winding mountain roads, driving a manual with kids is inconvenient. More importantly, I haven't driven a manual car in nearly ten years and wasn’t confident. After negotiating, the car rental company made calls for almost half an hour, and I had to make nearly ten minutes of international calls to QEEQ. The rental company then said they found the only automatic car available and took us nearly 40 kilometers to their headquarters. What they gave us was a small Nissan SUV, which couldn’t fit our large and small luggage. With no other options, we had to accept the original manual Opel station wagon. This car rental experience left me speechless... The GPS rented for free from QEEQ before departure couldn’t locate our destinations at all. Thankfully, we had downloaded Google Maps on our phone before the trip, which helped us successfully complete our road trip. A word of advice to those choosing cheaper rental companies: There are many affordable rental companies in Europe with very convenient locations; you can book directly on their websites. Using intermediaries for booking complicates communication with European rental companies. This review is just my personal opinion, individual opinions may vary.
