The service staff tried to sell additional services and spelled my name wrong, which significantly delayed the process. However, the return process was smooth, and the manager-like staff member was very friendly and even helped us find the return location.
Aside from additional upselling, they also pushed me to prepay for a full tank of fuel, which wasn't cheap at all. When I asked about the total cost, they only mentioned the upsell amount, not the overall cost as I expected.
Terrible experience. Our order was on 8/9. Our car broke down on the road, disrupting our plans. We contacted the rental company, and they told us to take a cab back and that they would reimburse the cost. Well, it’s now 11/12, and the rental company hasn’t done anything. The car rental platform hasn't taken any further action either, just asking us to wait. We initially hoped the rental company would compensate us for the damage to our plans, but now no one is even acknowledging the basic expenses. I will never rent from Alamo again in my life.
Rented from Alamo for the first time. Booked a compact car and got to choose one at pickup. The car wasn't in great condition, but they upgraded it for free, which was very satisfactory!
I rented cars in two places this time. In Seattle, I encountered some frustrating issues. The receptionist at the front desk insisted on selling me additional insurance. When we told her we didn't need it, she threatened that we might not get the car if we didn't buy it. After we explained that if Washington state law required us to buy it, we would comply if she signed it, she impatiently replied that it was our decision and gave us the car. Thankfully, one of our group understood English; otherwise, we would have been fooled. Additionally, in both places, we booked a Chrysler 300 but were given a Chevrolet sedan instead, likely a Malibu in domestic terms. If it weren't for the need to remain calm abroad and not make a fuss, I would have confronted them. They were just unreasonable. The only consolation was that the car was relatively new. I checked around both rental locations and saw many cars, but not a single Chrysler. Clearly, they are using the Chrysler as a bait.
