CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON AVIS IN NICE

When picking up the car, they told me the car I booked, a Mercedes C-Class, was not available. If I wanted a Mercedes, I had to upgrade and was told it would only cost 50 euros. But when I signed and checked the bill, it was actually 150 euros. The French way of doing business feels somewhat like back home; you feel cheated.

The car was upgraded to a new one, which had a smell. It came with a GPS system. Everything else was great. Didn't return the car with a full tank, but the fuel charge was reasonable. Very good experience.

When picking up the car, we arrived around 11 PM. The counter staff seemed tired and the attitude was just average. The car was very new but slightly underpowered. The staff at the return were particularly friendly and highly efficient.

Nothing else to say, the return procedure was incredibly swift, just handed over the key and done in a second.

There are additional insurance promotions. In-store insurance requires a 150 Euro deposit, but if you don't buy insurance, the deposit is 1000 Euros. First time driving, even with QEEQ super insurance, I still spent 30 Euros on extra insurance.
