The rental company did not charge according to the pre-booked price on the platform; they forced additional insurance fees and refused to communicate on-site. Currently, the platform is involved in handling the issue. Not recommended to choose vehicles from Dollar.
The process was very fast and satisfying. You need to inspect the car yourself, mark any scratches on paper, and give it to the front desk. The rental period starts from the time you receive the keys. When returning the car, you need to check the fuel level and mileage.
The car was a bit old and had manual locks for the doors. I had to use the key every day to open the front two doors, and the rear doors had to be unlocked from the inside. It was frustrating, especially for someone short.
The lady at the front desk initially asked me to check the car for any damages, saying that they would deduct from my deposit (200 dollars) if there were any issues. However, when I returned the car, she didn't even take a look. I just told her that I had refueled, and she simply said thank you and that was it.
The rental was supposed to only hold a pre-authorization and include a service for returning the car without a full tank. I specifically asked if it was just a pre-authorization, and they confirmed it. I assumed the fuel service was included, but it turned out to be a prepaid fuel option by default. They kept pushing insurance and insisted on adding it. Finally, the rental agreement through this company got canceled—too disappointing.
It was alright. Initially got a white Nissan with around 30,000 miles on it. After a week, the undercarriage cover screws came loose, so I went to the dealership to exchange the car. They gave me a similar model but in dark gray. They processed the full insurance I had taken out, probably to avoid their staff being held accountable. I didn't pay anything extra, and they weren't responsible for any damage. They didn't upgrade my car, but maybe there were no luxury models available at the time. I didn't mind. Returned the car after five days without any issues.
