Waited over an hour to pick up the vehicle

Hertz's service is really frustrating. Both the pick-up and drop-off processes were extremely slow, extremely slow, extremely slow!

The staff at the front desk were nice when we picked up the car. The service was excellent. Returning the car was also simple. The staff in the parking lot checked for issues and confirmed the gas tank was full. They printed the receipt and we were able to leave.

Picking up the car at the airport was very convenient, the car was in excellent condition, and the service was great. Renting the car for a week was very cost-effective. The only issue was that the car return location in Vancouver was in the underground garage of a building, and the HERTZ sign was very small, which caused some trouble as we had to circle around the building once.

I placed the order on the QEEQ website for a Jeep Compass or similar model, but the actual vehicle provided was a Jeep Renegade. The rental company claimed it was similar, but a quick check on Jeep’s official website shows that the Renegade is priced lower and has less space, power, and features compared to the Compass. In my opinion, these two cannot be considered similar models. If the rental company does not actually have a Compass available, they should use images and information for the Renegade to avoid misunderstandings. Everyone has different perspectives on vehicle class, and misleading information can lead to unnecessary confusion. This rental experience was unsatisfactory in terms of the provided vehicle. However, the safety performance of the Renegade was adequate, reliable on icy roads.

Very straightforward, better than expected.

The return process in Edmonton was very good, but the pickup service in Calgary was not. It was entirely in English, and even though they saw I was Chinese, they didn't slow down their speech. The person tried to sell me insurance, and when I didn't buy it, he became unhappy, just tossed the keys to me and told me to find the car myself. I wasn't familiar with some of the car's details and switches, but they didn't come over to help even after I asked several times. They also suggested I upgrade to an SUV.

There were some minor issues, but overall it was good! From Calgary to Vancouver, the one-way fee was a bit disappointing.

Waited in line for a long time to pick up the car. The RAV4 I rented was replaced with a Qashqai.

They still tried to sell insurance, and we eventually bought it because we were unfamiliar with the area. No Chinese service was available.

When picking up the car, I was told they didn't have the reserved model or any similar ones. It's bizarre; how can you take reservations without having the cars? I don't know if it was a website glitch or a rental company issue. Without upgrading, I would have had to take a smaller car. For safety reasons, I upgraded to a Toyota Camry, which ended up costing more than booking an SUV online. The car had 60,000 kilometers on it, which isn't too much, but it was hard to drive, making sputtering noises, and the steering wheel vibrated constantly, making me worry it might break down. It was a very unpleasant car rental experience.

The service was quite good, had a pleasant chat.

No significant experience

We booked a car at a location that wasn't in a busy area, but when we arrived, the office was closed. We had to call a nearby location and then take a cab to pick up the car. Fortunately, it worked out, but it did waste some time.

This company is large, has many branches, and provides good service.

Leaving Calgary Airport, Hertz is right across the street, making it very convenient. There weren't many people in line, everything was orderly, and the staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. Very pleased!

It's okay, but they do try to sell additional services.

Damages were not pointed out or checked together proactively. The extra driver fee included not just a per-person charge but also an additional airport fee, which I cannot understand. Moreover, no explanation was provided at the counter while handling the paperwork. Additionally, the Mazda CX-9 is considered a mid-size to large SUV, but the GMC we received doesn't seem to be of the same type or size.
