Due to communication issues, despite being informed that full insurance was purchased, additional insurance and other unreasonable fees (such as a toll device that cost over $100 as soon as it was installed) were added at the time of pick-up. After returning home, the post-rental service representative from the rental platform was very responsible and managed to recover most of my losses. It looks like I need to review the rental terms more carefully. This time, having a young man proficient in English with us ironically made us overlook this step. The contract was displayed on a very small screen, and due to fatigue from long-distance travel, we just signed after a brief verbal explanation. This serves as a valuable lesson. When picking up the car, an Asian employee named Bruce, who looked Korean, gave us a hard time because we are Chinese. He asked for a lot of personal information such as Social Security Number, Los Angeles residence address, and details about my relationship with my husband. With a stern face, he delayed us for 40 minutes and finally said he couldn't process our rental. Later, we switched to a white employee, and it was done in 5 minutes. We complained to the supervisor about Bruce's racial discrimination and poor service. The supervisor said they would investigate and email us the findings. It's been 6 days and we haven't heard back.

It would be best to have Chinese service.

When I arrived, they told me there were no cars available and asked me to pay an additional USD 99/day to switch cars or keep waiting. I insisted on not paying, so I waited over an hour before the rental company gave me the car I initially reserved. However, the car was not cleaned at all!
