Staff was great at pick-up. We had two car and there were a few people waiting in line but it went smoothly with the paperwork. No attempt to sell us on additional insurance as we had bought full cover from Easyrentcars. Once paperwork was done, however, in Florence centre, we had to walk a little to a garage to collect the car. Unfortunately, lots of people were waiting and staffs did their best to get everyone their cars. It was a little hectic and took a while, but the staffs did their very best. We may have just been their at peak pick up time too. Just allow extra time if picking up in Florence centre.

Long wait at Verona airport on arrival, as 4 people in queue, and only 1 person working. We had prebooked, but had to wait behind people who had not. Appreciate it was Sunday evening, but Hertz had 2 people serving and no queue. Air con in pick up queue was not on or not working. Vehicle selected was a Peugeot 308 estate which has a 660L boot, but I was provided with a Fiat 500L which has a 455L boot - 205 litres less ? Appreciate vehicle make cannot be guaranteed, but how are these vehicles in the same class ? Offered a Volvo estate for another 140 EUR, but an equivalent size car or bigger should be offered at no extra cost. Return of vehicle much better. 2 people serving, and no queue. Process took less than 10 mins.

Easyrent was very good, easy to use, and cancel and re-book for a lower cost with vouchers and price variations. Got around £50 off the initial price booked many months ago.

“Avoid Europcar in Italy”
About Europcar: 3.7 /10
Audi A3 diesel is a good and low km car. However it took over 90 mins to get served and receive the car. Other patrons had the same experience - we were not alone. Car arrived dirty, damaged and with low oil warning light on. I've never had to add oil for a hire car before. Europcar later tried to blame me for damages to the vehicle, thankfully we took many pics on receipt of the vehicle to prove our innocence. Customer service at Europcar have been unresponsive to emails throughout the experience.

The service provided by the staff at Florence was excellent. I had originally booked the car ony till 18:00 but on checking with the Europcar staff at Florence, they let me return the car till 11:00 the next day.

Car was full of white waterspots and the front was not cleaned well. Although with only 3900 km on the colck had many scratches especially the interior. There was some rattle from the undercarriage of the car as well. Otherwise ok. They did not specify where to dropoff the car (what lot number to be parked in). It would help if there were any sighs at arrival hall where their office is, since it is in another building on the other side of the airport.
