The location is too far from the airport, and I had to pay an extra 5 dollars. The staff were trying to upsell and persuade me in various ways. Fortunately, I've rented cars several times before, so I wasn't misled.
Extremely unreliable rental company. I chose their Mondeo wagon from Zuzuche because it was cheap. When picking up the car, the staff gave me a rental contract to sign three times, one of which was a clause stating that if I received any traffic fines during the rental period, they would charge an additional £84. This was not mentioned when booking online, but I was made to sign it at pick-up. Although I was displeased, I had no choice but to comply. As expected, shortly after returning home, I received a bank charge of over 800 yuan. The rental company emailed me saying I had a traffic fine in Bath, instructing me to pay it on the Bath traffic department website. It was difficult to access the site (blocked in China), but when I finally did, it had photos and videos of the alleged violation. I saw a no-entry sign and turned away (the video deceptively cut out the part where I turned away). I filed an appeal on this site, requesting a review of the video in its entirety. Two days later, the Bath traffic department canceled the fine. However, GREEN MOTION informed me they would not refund the £84 charge and suggested I reclaim it from the issuing department! Because of a UK department's mistake, I'm being penalized by this rental company. Outrageous! I logically raised a dispute with them, and it's been sixteen days without any response. In two words: GREEN MOTION is a scam! I recommend Zuzuche to delist this company for blatantly exploiting Chinese customers.
The store is at the Holiday Inn Heathrow Airport. They switched the car I originally booked and wanted to charge an upgrade fee. This feels like a rip-off, very unpleasant experience. I will not rent from this company again.
1. The reception told me that a petrol version car could only go 200 miles on a full tank, whereas a diesel one could go 500 miles. They persuaded me to upgrade to diesel for 60 Euros. When I got to the parking lot, the staff handed me a beat-up 9-seater Volkswagen diesel. I said I had chosen a Mercedes, but they told me that was the only car available in the same class. I was scammed out of 60 Euros. The fuel cap of this car was broken, and it wouldn't close properly. Throughout my trip, many kind locals tried to warn me in various ways, including making me pull over on the highway. 2. Upon returning the car, I was told that I would be charged extra for exceeding 100 miles per day, which was not mentioned during the rental process. Luckily, I had a Chinese friend from the UK with me, and the staff waived the fee.
The car was very new, the rental location was convenient, and the service was good. Overall, the experience was great. The only issue was that they charged £1,995 from my bank card when picking up the car. They explained that £1,500 was the insurance excess and £495 was another deposit.
When I arrived to pick up the car, I saw a customer arguing with the company staff, likely due to a lack of cars. I hoped this wouldn't happen to me. Since my booking was within the scheduled time, I quickly got my car. On returning the car, I got delayed by half an hour due to unfamiliar roads but was still able to return the car smoothly without any issues. The car was in good condition. Positive review.
I booked a car similar to the Tiguan, but actually got a Hyundai i35. They didn't let me choose the color, and the only car available on site was not the color I wanted. The rental period was quite long, and I wasn't very lucky because one of the tires got punctured. I was charged nearly 200 pounds for it when returning the car. It was just a Hankook tire, and they almost charged 350 pounds as if it were a Continental tire. The pick-up location is not at the airport, which is not very convenient.
The attitude was mediocre. Our main complaint is that we booked a 4WD Volkswagen Tiguan, but when we were at the counter, we were not informed that this model was unavailable. Instead, at the pickup point, we were given a different car with a much smaller trunk (the Tiguan can hold 3 large and 2 small pieces of luggage). However, they offered a similar car, the Hyundai IX35, which can hold 3 large and 3 small pieces of luggage, but only if we paid an upgrade fee of 15 pounds per day. Moreover, there was no receipt; we paid cash and only saw 'UP' added on our agreement. We suspect that they had the Tiguan but didn’t give it to us so they could charge the upgrade fee, and that the 135 pounds we paid was pocketed by the staff (no receipt or invoice was provided). Our complaints are: 1. The Honda SUV provided is a similar car to the Tiguan, so there should be no upgrade fee according to the rental agreement; 2. We were not given a receipt or invoice for the charge; 3. Only cash payment was accepted. We demand the return of the 135 pounds charged. We reserve the right to further complaints. We hope the rental company will: 1. Address the issue with the rental provider and recover the 135 pounds; 2. Cease cooperation with this provider to prevent other customers from being scammed.
It started off well, but the communication became poor later on. The staff's attitude was okay during pickup, but the guy's attitude during return was terrible. No one attended to you at the counter, which is hard to believe considering this is the service standard in the UK.
I booked a Passat on the website, but upon arrival, they said they didn't have that model and only had a Citroen C5 (not sure if I remember correctly) of a similar size. This should be promptly communicated by email after the order is confirmed.
Few staff members, resulting in long wait times. I was recommended to buy additional insurance at the store, but the benefits were not well-explained. I decided to purchase it to avoid any unforeseen issues. The car was in great condition, fully functional, powerful, a new model, and equipped with GPS.
