Everything went smoothly. There was no upselling of insurance, and although the car wasn't returned with a full tank, the fuel fee was settled on the spot. Now I'm just waiting for my deposit to be refunded.
Unlike what some people said, they didn't insist on you purchasing additional full coverage insurance during car pickup, which might vary depending on the person. Overall, the pickup experience was good, but they replaced the Ford Focus with a Chery, which has notably higher fuel consumption. Also, the fuel tank specifies 95-octane gasoline, but it actually requires 98-octane.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied. The car was in great condition, but it came with an empty tank, which was a hassle as I had to find a gas station right after picking it up. Plus, when returning the car, it's hard to use up all the fuel, so renters tend to lose out a bit. It would be better if they provided the car with a full tank and required it to be returned full.
This was my second time renting from this company because my first experience was great, so I came back. I originally booked a Yaris, but when I picked up the car they gave me a Nissan JUKE instead. You could call it a small upgrade, but honestly it didn’t feel like a great deal. The fuel consumption was around 6.5L/100km, which is not terrible and probably better than many cars, but compared with the MG3 I rented from them last time—under 4L/100km—it’s a big difference. If you rent from them, I’d recommend asking for a hybrid in the same class when you pick up the car; the fuel economy will really surprise you. Another big plus is their fuel policy: if you return the car with less fuel, they only charge £1 per litre—yes, just £1, with no extra fees. Really good value for money.
The staff were really friendly and proactive, their service attitude was great. They answered all my questions in detail, and the information they provided was very thorough. The car was extremely clean and hygienic, and the overall condition was very good—basically felt like a new car. My only gripe is with the QEEQ insurance. It’s not handled directly through the local rental company but arranged through China, so if anything happens you have to pay out of pocket first and then claim reimbursement from the insurance back home.
The staff at the rental place were super proactive and friendly, the car itself was in great condition, and the interior was really clean. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
