We were about to return the car at nearly 5 PM. We quickly sent someone to the store to ask the staff to wait a bit longer. By the time we parked, it was already past 5, but the staff waited patiently. Thank you very much! However, since the parking lot signs were not clear (right next to another parking lot) and there were many one-way streets nearby, we missed the entrance and had to take a big detour (we ended up making a big circle again). It would be great if parking assistance could be provided!
Overall service was good, and the staff were very friendly. I originally chose an X-Trail but got a Ford KUGA instead (same price). The car was very new, with less than 7000 km.
The return process was quick. After parking the car in the rental company's lot, the staff checked if the fuel tank was full and briefly inspected the car's exterior.
Everything was fine
But a few days later, I noticed a charge of AUD 31.75 for fuel on my credit card. I had refueled the car at the BP station next to the airport right before returning it, within an hour. Not sure what the reason was, but I don't want to pursue it further.
The staff at the Melbourne Budget rental point were very friendly, patient, and attentive. However, some of the female employees had a poor attitude. I rented a Toyota Corolla, and the car was in good condition.
The process of picking up and returning the car was very convenient and quick. Very satisfied. It would be even better if we got a paper with contact information for vehicle issues, the type of fuel needed, and other basic useful information when picking up the car, and a detailed bill email like Thrifty after returning the car.
In most developed countries, many facilities require self-service and have a high degree of automation. Therefore, you need to understand the process and location for picking up and returning the car in advance. It won't be like in our country, where there are staff serving you all the way. The car was a Holden wagon, and as the Budget staff said, 'the car is bloody new!' It had only done a little over 1,000 kilometers. The car was very new and in great condition.
Everything else was great. The staff at the rental counter were very helpful and patient. However, the male employee inspecting the car upon return had a poor attitude.
The service was good. The staff were very friendly when I picked up the car. Although they seemed a bit unhappy when I returned the car after hours, the return process was still completed successfully.
