It was fairly easy to find in downtown Melbourne. The car was in the parking garage of a building. We drove it to our accommodation to pick up luggage. The car was big enough to fit 4 adults and 4 large suitcases.
The rental process was very convenient. Just give them the order, driver's license, and translation, and it's handled quickly. When picking up the car, they directly tell you the location, and you can go there yourself—it's completely self-service. Returning the car is just handing over the keys, and no one checks the car. Very convenient.
Arrived at the rental location earlier than the reserved time. The staff allowed us to pick up the car earlier, but the return time had to be adjusted accordingly. They asked if we needed insurance, and did not push further after we declined. Noticed a noticeable scratch on the car's rear upon pickup, which was then marked on the pick-up form by the staff.
The location of this branch is easy to find, just a one-minute walk from the airport exit. The staff were friendly and recommended upgrading the car and insurance. Since it was my first time driving a right-hand drive in Melbourne, I decided to be cautious. Both picking up and returning the car were very convenient, especially the return process, possibly because I bought full insurance. I will consider this company again next time. Great service.
We requested to use UnionPay but the charge was still in the local currency. They pushed for insurance, which is more expensive there, but it can be less hassle in case of an incident. The car was relatively new and in good condition. Inexplicably, an additional amount of about ten Australian dollars was charged to my credit card three days later. I asked for an explanation but received no reply.
They did try to upsell full insurance at pickup, which was expected. However, the return location closed earlier than stated, causing some inconvenience.
I went early in the morning, and there were basically no people. I completed the paperwork and picked up the car. The car had only been driven for a little over 1500 kilometers, almost new, very satisfied. I had seen many reviews mentioning that they easily point out wear and tear when returning the car. We had some minor scuffs on the tires, which I consider normal wear and tear, but there were no issues when we returned the car. It was excellent.
I was quite nervous renting a car abroad for the first time, but the manager even called an auntie who speaks Cantonese to help with translation, haha.
