The rental process was not even completed, and the staff member opened his snack and started examining its ingredients, discussing it with his colleague. They completely ignored us waiting for them to finish. Additionally, they kept pushing for insurance sales without explaining the toll fee system for the Golden Gate Bridge.
A black woman had a very bad attitude. Our English isn't good and communication was difficult. She kept rolling her eyes at us. We couldn't understand the English bill, and she forced us to pay for roadside assistance. I will definitely file a complaint against her.
Long wait times even if there are only a few people in line. Additionally, they try to upsell insurance and threaten jail time if you cause an incident...
My experience with this company was not good, the treatment to the client was horrible, they did not want to solve my problems, they treated me with contempt, they left me alone simply, I do not recommend
Strongly advise against using this car rental company in the future. The front desk staff, who was African American, tried to deceive us by charging more. After we pointed this out, they repeatedly provided various excuses to cover it up. It took over an hour of back-and-forth before they finally removed all the extra charges and we got the car. By then, it was dark, and my wife and child were waiting and hungry. It was a bad experience, even though it’s all part of travel. We used Hertz earlier on our trip and got the car in 15 minutes, a completely different experience.
I recommend everyone not to be cheap like me.
The car was fine. The counter staff at pick up were terrible. We were told there were no economy cars available and we would have to pay for an upgrade, but when I mentioned a colleague had said we could upgrade for free in this case, suddenly a car was available. They also attempted to sell me insurance which I had already bought and had paperwork for, which the staff denied until they saw the paperwork. Awful service and I wouldn't use Advantage again.
Overall, the car was good. It was not washed when I picked it up. The windshield needed to be cleaned on the inside as it was foggy and hard to see at night.
The service attitude of a front desk agent named John at Advantage is very poor. He always tries to upsell additional insurance and other services to Chinese customers. When I refuse to buy, he becomes unfriendly. For example, he pushes for upgrades on insurance, toll fees, and purchasing fuel from them.
