Didn’t get the car I booked - I got one much larger which most people might not mind but I was nervous driving a much larger car. They just said they didn’t have the one I booked. It took awhile to get the car and I had to ask them to fill the tank before I took the car which took longer. I also spent more on fuel as the car was much less economical than what I had booked. The staff were friendly and polite if a little slow, and my booking was cheap. The location is not that easy to access on public transport which added a lot of time to my journey to/from pickup. On drop off they didn’t advise me of any charges but did charge my card. It was a legitimate charge but staff should make the driver aware of charges at the point of drop off.
You definitely get what you pay for - they are cheap for a reason.
After queuing for 90 minutes in the office, every other customer had problems of some kind all to do with inflexible and unrealistic policies. After my 90 minutes in the queue, 25 minutes to process the transaction, I then had to queue for a further 25 minutes while the car was cleaned. All in all, I spent 2.5 hours to collect a car. Never again!

i went with Greeen Motion because of the cost but would absolutlely never use them again. Although they appear to be cheap there are a lot of hidden costs that should be highlighted. The use of the Hopper Bus to get to the hotel to pick up the green motion car was expensive costing 6 GBP per person. On a return trip for 4 people this adds on a cost of almost 50GBP. On arrival, there was an incredibly long queue. We had to wait over an hour and a half. All the customer service agent could say was that it was lucky we weren't hear last weekend because people waited over three hours. They boasted to being the busiest car rental place in Heathrow but didn't have enough staff on. When I arrived there were 4 members of staff serving and then 2 left as they finished their shift despite the long line out the door. The manager was more focused on "getting some atmosphere in this place" and went off to find some speakers and hook these up to play music instead of helping to serve the queue. There was a lot of repetition in giving information that was already supplied on booking. The process was slow and full of staff trying to sell further insurance and cover packages. Things that are standard at other car rental companies are extras here. Eg. additional driver is 10GBP per day. The standard insurance package is low and the excess was over 1400GBP as opposed to 300 for normal rental companies. The staff were not very professional in their demeanour, chatting and gossiping throughout. They were clearly over worked and fairly fed up with their lot. When I had to take the car back early due to a medical emergency I wanted to contact them directly to talk about extended cover etc and I could never get through to them. I had to resort to driving to Heathrow to discuss options with them. they could not extend me cover to Europe and could not offer me a refund for unused days despite me having proof of a medical emergency.
It would be better to describe the way much clearer and from Heathrow Airport to your location, find it very difficult to locate the shuttle and the right terminal. I ended up taking the TFL buses. Also make it simple to just say that your office is actually the Holiday Inn building, rather than a door number and a street name etc... Thanks
Car stated on rental agreement was different from the car presented to us. Presented car's boot space was smaller than the car in the rental agreement.

The car had a side pocket full of toe nails in some sort of liquid and looked awful, the booking fellow was a nice helpful person, the car cleaner / service person who was working with him had a bad attitude and was not respectful to the booking agent.
First of all, I booked an auto large car with air con. , a Volvo V60 or similar capable to store 3 large luggages.I was given a SUV instead and they said is similar class which I had doubt and queried, but I was given the same answer. Anyway, the bad experience start at the second day of the trip, the car was parked in the sun for 1.5 hours and we put on the air con and couldn't cool down the temp at all and we start wondering why? Anyway, same happen the next day. We called the number on the rental agreement and they said they are only the car provider and the car hire contract is not with them. They asked me to contact the company that I signed the contract with.Then I looked up the reservation confirmation email and email them the problem and then somebody called me back and said where I was, Bristol, has a replacement car which was a manual small toyota. I told them this is totally different from what I booked and can't service my needs. Then they gave me another option - asked me to take it to car dealer Renault to have it check and fix. So I did, took it in and the prelim. check result was no gas in the air con. system and need a full re-check on next day. Final report came out on next day and found a pipe is leaking, but they don't have the parts need ordering from France. So I lost almost 2 days without the car and my time lost looking after this on behalf of the car supplier. All the record was sent via email to your supporting emailing system. For the rest of the trip, there was no other options offered to me and the whole family suffered tremendous uncomfortable heat and no rest in the car. We even had to cancelled a few long trips particularly our desirable trip to Scotland. I paid more to book a car with unlimited mileage and it didn't come in use because there is no air con in the car and under hot temp. Image driving 7 hours each way in that condition. Anyway, I am writing for serious compensation for full refund as it had ruined my whole family trip
Terrible service and very long wait for car. They would not accept my Amex card so I needed to make a payment to my Visa card as the deposit they asked for was GBP 1,260 which is ridiculous for a mini car. No Wifi available so I was forced to buy their insurance which was GBP 160 for the few days. I left feeling ripped off and will never use Goldcar again.
