I reserved a compact SUV Toyota RAV4, but I was given a subcompact SUV Hyundai ix25, which does not match the 'RAV4 or similar' description on the website!
We booked a 4WD vehicle, but on the day we picked it up, they gave us a non-4WD Suzuki, insisting it was the same category. Why did we pay extra to reserve an SUV? Just look at some challenging Georgian mountain roads or do a bit of research and you'll know the reason, which resulted in us not being able to access many places. We had to rent another car to get around. The options provided don't allow for searching, forcing you to choose one that's not relevant.
Picking up and returning the car was very convenient. We needed to cross the border into Armenia and had QEEQ confirm the necessary procedures with the car rental company multiple times beforehand. While picking up the car, the staff mentioned they needed our passport information for communication with QEEQ, which QEEQ did not inform us about. However, the car rental company expedited the process on-site, so our overall itinerary wasn't affected. Highly recommend!
Firstly, the location of the car rental company was incorrect. The navigation directions were totally off. Also, no one answered the phone at the rental company. Eventually, we had to search for the company's name directly, and it was still several kilometers away from the location on Rent-a-Car. Additionally, they charged us 15 Lari for car washing when returning the car? What? We only used the car for six hours in total. How could it possibly be dirty enough to need a wash?
The order was confirmed for car pickup in Tbilisi, Georgia, and dropoff in Baku, Azerbaijan. However, at the pickup, I was informed that I couldn't drop the car off in Baku, forcing the order to be canceled. Not sure if it was the rental company's fault or the platform's.
I booked a Prado, but they told me on-site that they only had a Sorento and insisted it was the same class, same price. Everyone, is this really the same class? Payment was made to zhu-Zhu Car, but on-site only had a Sorento, take it or leave it.
The pickup and driving experience were generally normal, but there were many unpleasant issues during the return. I wanted a refund for the unused days as I returned the car two days early. From another perspective, since it was a prepaid booking (which I found out through communication with the platform customer service), there was no clear refund policy. What truly frustrated me was the car rental company's uncooperative attitude. When communicating with the rental platform's customer service, they promised to provide a proof document but did not follow through. The invoice that was supposed to be emailed within three days also didn't arrive, and the attitude during the discussions was not good. Communication points never aligned, and they kept emphasizing their position as a sub-agent of SurPrice, stating that refunds require multiple levels of agent communication. While I understand the need for communication, SurPrice did not assist within its capacity. One of the responsible persons I was communicating with eventually disappeared, which was very unpleasant! This reflects the issue of too many agency levels between the platform and the final rental company. Supervision is necessary!
Fraudulent service!!
We followed the navigation from Zuzuche to pick up the car, but it led us in the wrong direction, causing us to be more than an hour late. The rental company used this as an excuse to give us a cheaper Hyundai! We had pre-paid the full amount, so why wasn't the car reserved?!
When returning the car, we arrived more than half an hour early at the drop-off point. The scheduled time was nine o'clock, but no one was at work half an hour past the time! We couldn't get through on the landline, then called a mobile number, and contacted Zuzuche customer service. They told us to leave the keys in the door crack! Why didn't they mention their failure to meet the schedule then?!
Like: I liked everything about the vehicle and the Avis office. Dislike: When I dropped off the vehicle at the airport, there was nobody at the office, I had to wait over 30 minutes for the employee which is not ok
